Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
They were put up a year before the convention hotel was announced. they're just poorly placed That's probably never going to begin. placing the cameras better is probably never going to begin? I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess he is saying that the convention hotel construction will neve...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
The "row houses" in the lower right are the McClure Flats, a notorious filthy cheap slum that was infamous for crime. It is amazing how close in proximity were high end properties to the lowest. They may have been a slum and home to crime, but I sure wish they still existed. Isn't that th...

Re: New Springhill Suites on the Plaza?
Absolutely hideous. Gah, what a 100% soulless building. That building had to have been copy and pasted onto that site. And won't you just look at that blank wall along the street? This might be the worst building I've ever seen. I'm debating whether this is worse than the 20th and Main hotel. I thin...

Damn you guys are harsh on Sunfresh. While maybe not the best store on earth, I always liked it pretty well. Never had a bad experience. I don't understand the importance of over the top customer service in a gigantic grocery store. They are meant to be anonymous and sort of distant in nature. I mea...

Re: Broadway
Yeah, those apartment buildings really need to be rotated 90 degrees to face the streets and those townhouses need to be flip-flopped so that the garages are accessed from the interior of the block... Funny how that seems so easy. And yet how does the developer not see it? Also, does no one else fi...

Re: New Convention Hotel
if they cut it down to 20 something stories, something like that could be built in our city We're not Oklahoma city, I don't see why we should only be able to build 20 story buildings. I think cerner made a huge mistake building in banister. Adding 16,000 jobs down town would have been huge huge hu...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Too many times developers go with design that's 'safe' or whatever is least expensive. Power & Light is a good example of a missed opportunity to have unique architecture that could draw visitors in and of itself. Instead or modern, cosmopolitan or even art deco we end up with warehouse wannabe...

Re: Transit App
I recommended this app in some random thread about a year ago. It really is pretty fantastic. It also has Uber integration now, so it's dead simple to figure out whether it's worth ordering a car instead of hoofing it to catch a bus, say. Man I wish I had seen your suggestion then. This app is a li...

Transit App
Okay so I have discovered the perfect companion for any person living the car free life like myself. This app makes taking transit so incredibly easy. Suddenly our transit system seems just as good as some of the best. Seriously, I suggest everyone try it out. You can find the app here http://transi...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
I am as big of a supporter as there is for the streetcar, but I think we can all agree it is not a catchall solution to our transit woes. We should use the streetcar as an anchor to build and re-invent a comprehensive metro wide system. Anyone who uses the system on a regular basis will concur, a l...

Is Huddle House still open?
I wonder if this means that apartment building behind these on Central will ever get built. Would be a shame, though I'm glad the mural is still up in that alleyway. Wasn't really ready to part ways with that mural.

Oh man this sounds delicious. I've been missing this part of Chicago. The Beef sandwiches and hotdogs. I can't believe people would be scared off from this place because of its location. At least people with cars. See I on the other hand, may be a little concerned making the trip down there. I would...

So it appears ground has still yet to be broken. I like their cute little "groundbreaking" they did in front of the cameras. "We're breaking ground everybody. But not really. It's too cold to work outside. See ya in Spring!"

Ooooh yes. That is indeed what I have in mind. It would really match the Paseo bridge too.
Only as long as our building remains unfinished and vacant too.

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L
I have to agree. Residential in the core of Westport would be awful. Living a few blocks away from johns big deck was terrible enough until they got shut down. I can only imagine residents would be calling in noise complaints left and right if they lived in the core of Westport. Offices could work ...

IIRC there were new renderings forthcoming. Is that still the case? I wish, but unless I missed something I think they are going forward with the original plan. I thought they were planning on breaking ground soon too. Really, really hope something interferes with this project. I would really it ra...

Haha I want to go to Fixy, the bicycle bar. Looks like a cool development. Agreed that this developer would be much better suited for the Columbus Park development. I only wish that this included a highrise or two. Hopefully the riverfront gets a couple, because it will need the density if they want...

I would be very pleased with that building. I especially like how there is street level retail. Would go well with everything on Missouri.
