Re: On-going downtown development projects

IIRC, the OKC 21c worked deals to have apartments built on the surrounding parking lots. Let's hope the same thing is happening here.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

I've heard it will be in the Mixing Bowl location. Didn't realize they were demoing, but makes sense. I hope they get rid of the front parking.

Re: Brookside

1. A local street taco joint. Not set in stone yet. 2. I believe they are planning on expanding the building west. I have heard a new restaurant will be announced for the Julian space soon. It will fill a niche that isn't currently in BKS. Also, a pizza/taproom will be opening adjacent to Brookside ...

I guess I don't understand how something can stop being historic? Will be sad to see these leave the neighborhood.

I don't know if there has ever been a time that teens didn't congregate...the plaza just happens to be the popular spot right now. Won't be surprised if downtown eventually ends up being the hang out. Teens will be teens..

Meh, as long as the design is accomodating to walkability/pedestrians, Im fine with this design. Its not like the original proposal design was earth shattering or anything.

Re: 3rd & Grand to be redeveloped as TOD

of course, the big concern with 900 stalls at 2nd and grand is that most of those cars would dump right onto the streetcar tracks (non-revenue track in the current configuration and revenue track if the riverfront extension is built). Would it help if they spilled out onto 2nd? Is that even an opti...

If the entire property is set for eventual redevelopment, it is interesting that a Mexican restaurant (I believe the name is Jaliscos) is planning a move into the building directly north of the Midwest Hotel.

I don't have a subscription either, but I do hope they are encouraged to include a retail component wherever they build. Centropolis isn't exactly a pleasant street experience..

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

The apartment buildings between Wyandotte & Baltimore on Armour have been approved for permits according to KIVA. They have been fenced off for a month or so, I would expect work to start soon.

MAC has been incredible for Midtown's progress.

Agreed. That section of Broadway looks like a wasteland. Hopefully they at least plant some trees.
