Re: KC Bike share

I was in Dallas this week. LimeBike/Ofo bikes were indeed everywhere and honestly a little intruding on spaces, but they all had to clean up the bikes by yesterday or face penalties or removal by the city. I barely saw anyone riding them, but overall they seemed like a good idea. They just need a l...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

It doesn't necessarily have to be all or nothing for the tennis courts. There are 14. Removal of just the 4 on 47th st would open a fair amount of land for redevelopment. That would be a reasonable compromise but a waste of space still for such a prime spot - and once realized could become more com...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Given the streetcar is free to ride there will likely eventually be thousands a day using the Plaza stop, certainly weekends. And the streetcar itself is a free attraction that will be popular between downtown/Plaza with hotel visitors alone. Agree a full blown transit center where many buses layove...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Don't know if posted but Jan 2018 had 97K riders compared to about 90K Jan 2017, the lowest ridership month of the year. http://kcstreetcar.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/KCStreetcar_Jan2018Ridership.pdf On another topic, what are the overall thoughts of streetcar impact on development? Seems great...

Re: Xroads James Beard District

I've never been a big fan of Michael Smith or his restaurant (felt more like a retirement home the couple of times I went) and this statement from him in the article pretty much sums it up for me: 'Sometimes you forget you want food to be delicious.' I hope he finds his mojo again with Farina and I...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Have seen a few tasteful urban village CVS designs on E Coast that would fit well on Plaza. Needs to happen whether in Plaza proper or if tennis center is transitioned into a transit center.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Main Site Proposal

The Plaza could use a couple more counter places and suppose this fits though a neighborhoody counter would be better. It's better than Larkburger, which we tried (opened S Plaza couple weeks ago) and weren't impressed with. Larkburger isn't as good as a typical juicy bar/grill burger, at least Shak...

Re: State of Downtown KC - 2018

Downtown employment needs a lot of work. 80Ks is rather low compared to the over 100K that was reported 15+ years ago. Downtown office vacancy is improving mostly due to office/residential conversions outside small companies moving in here and there (and Feds). DT job growth could continue a slow pa...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

^Just got back in KC and haven't' been following closely but I'm under the impression Nordstroms will apparently target the W end of theaters/Capital Grill space and the theaters will shrink to just Seville Sq. A smaller Nordstroms may make sense on many levels. It's their service that stands out an...
