Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee

Get rid of it, but not until a new building approved to replace. Reading between the lines, it sounds like they plan a garage '[to work in conjunction with other properties]." At least design/build the garage with intent to add a tallish building on top later.

Downtown hotels are now getting away w/out much parking if any. Many who visit don't rent a car. Not sure if a 'luxury' hotel can pull it off but will be interesting to see how they play this.

Am doing YouTubeTV trial and that episode is on there OnDemand. Hope this helps keep Krokstrom going. It's such a unique flavor and she does not take any shortcuts. After seeing the level of preparation involved, can understand the prices.

i went to a bar like that in Albany NY, which served free small cheese pizzas with every beer. pretty cool concept.
If a Brooklyn bar can pull it off with much higher rents, would think a KC pizza bar could as well.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^That's a good way to look at it. Though other side of Paseo Bridge along river is game while also mostly likely to have streetcar access before any other expansion. The parking spaces (garages or lots) can also be used as P&R for daytime workers into downtown via streetcar. Multiple benefits. If it...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^Generally agree. Get free bus going and if it takes hold metro wide, then consider a downtown stadium. Otherwise place to outskirts of downtown, such as at Paseo bridge and Front St.

Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment

It does't need to be 3rd but would be a natural extension to what's going on with 3rd around RM. And Caddy Shack is there. Future residential growth is prime for that stretch. Seattle required this in past in certain areas and it paid off 10-20 years later, not sure if they still do. The space was r...

Re: Columbus Park Redevelopment

Hopefully they move away from designs that lack street integration and look like 'the projects'. They had a pretty good start with the first 5th St infill then blew it with the following infill. This area is an example where it would be hard to pull off retail space with every project but I would st...

Re: City Corridor Happy Hour Deals

In Williamsburg Brooklyn, there's a fun bar called Alligator Lounge, free 8-9" brick oven cheese pizza with every drink (about $5-$6 for local beers), $1 for each ingredient. Not sure how they pull that off given energy it takes to keep oven hot. Not a big place, like Cigar Box or MKE Deli. Would be...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Full length awning with 2 full length benches back to back would be simple and effective. Same for bus stop with one long bench. However if they don't do that in other parts of metro it's a custom solution requiring custom maintenance. That might be the thinking of using standard stop shelters in a ...

Sounds like they use eggs, which doesn't make it vegan. Sounds like it's more loosely vegetarian.
