Re: NFL Draft

Unlikely streetcar operating by then. But it could be under construction by then, which could create a traffic nightmare in Midtown for large events like this. Free shuttle runs down Broadway to Westport/Plaza might be needed.

Re: NFL Draft

The decision seems to be based on space and the large lawn between US/Memorial provides that, which worked out find for Royals World Series party. The free streetcar ties everything together anyway so it will be one contiguous street party (or large pockets anyway) from US to RM. Direct the 'tourist...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

^Downtown needs to decide if it wants to still cater to the car culture or not as a long term strategy. If truly seeking an urban strategy, focusing parking near freeway access points with transit/personal mobility access to rest of downtown is one strategy. Scooters make it even easier. And city-ow...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

There are many buildings 6+ floors built around metro often. The properties along streetcar are the most primo real estate in the metro. Sad to see it attracts such small developments. Was expecting more big ticket national developers to be lining up by now. There are some but not as many as I'd ex...

33% flew in of 600,000? That's impressive if true but sounds like some twisting of stats.

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

Found this from 2016, different plans now? Would hope for something more substantial... Kansas City’s B&G Realty Investments has a contract to purchase two buildings at 1818 and 1822 Main St. — 6,000 square feet each — and will renovate them for retail, restaurant and office use. “We are looking for...

Looks like a creepy tinfoil blob horror movie, CGI'd into the scene. And given it's not makes it all the more intriguing.

This must be Cordish/Helix's first micro apt project. Though it only took me a few minutes of searches to find some ideas. WTF Helix/Cordish, these are going for over $2/sqft and you got incentives.

Re: Saxon at the Midland (formerly Midland Office Building)

Hmm, designed by local firm Helix. For an architecture firm that embraces creativity, 3D efficient design must not be part of their vocabulary. At apparently over $2/sqft and public incentives, would expect more thought put into this.

Lots of wasted space.

Re: Saxon at the Midland (formerly Midland Office Building)

Fecal Matters aside... Looking at the top of the kitchen cabinets relative to top of wall on the right yet bathroom wall goes all the way up, it looks like very high ceilings. Seems to be twice as high as top of kitchen cabinets. The shower head is also only half way up wall. Even more disappointing...

Re: Bike Lanes

As much as I like the bike lane design and road diet it is difficult to turn as a driver getting onto or crossing Armour at most intersections (that don't have a light). Am in the camp that urban design should cater to pedestrian first, bikes/scooters second and cars third but if prioritizing bikes ...
