New Bike Shop in Olathe

Some friends of mine have opened a new bike shop in Olathe specializing in retro (and not so retro) beach cruisers. They offer a couple interesting brands of bikes and also carry all sorts of accessories. I've picked out a cool bike for the Tweed Ride in October. http://www.bigtimecruisers.com/ If t...

NKC Nano-Brewery

The other day I spoke with someone who is planning on opening a new nano brewery in NKC. I believe they have a space somewhere on Swift and are currently ordering equipment and constructing a taproom. The opening date is sometime in December. Good news for the KC beer scene. I've been hoping some sm...

Re: beer.

Cheapy yard beer alert - I've discovered Old Milwaukee Light (NOT Milwaukee's Best, Old Milwaukee, by Schlitz, that of the Will Ferrell ads). Classic American super-light lager; you can drink of ton of them, they taste decent, are generally the cheapest 12er in the store at $6.99 and even have a 20...

Re: Good places for Kids to eat Downtown

My kids have ALWAYS been awesome at restaurants.   They totally know how to act in sit down restaurants and have known how to act since they were very young toddlers.  What's odd is that most kids are not like mine, no matter what their parents are like.  It's not very difficult to teach your kids ...

Re: Global Montessori?

School leases from them, but they have nothing to do with the Unity Temple. If it did (or any other church for that matter), my child would not be attending there.  The school does have a relationship with Eden Alley though..they provide the kids menu, if you don't bring a bagged lunch. I worked at...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

That's 2203...the one the plumber bought.  I consulted him on the floorplan just yesterday and it looks like it will remain a loft style...just much nicer.  Just gotta get someone in the old sausage place on the sw corner now... I've always that 2203 had a lot of potential.  Glad someone is working...

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Is actually 2203 elma.  This place is very, very cool...you'll be impressed when it's done. Do you know anything about the brick, two level building on the southeast corner of Brooklyn and Elma?  It looks like it could be transformed into a cool open floor plan on the lower level. Thanks in advance.

Which place is this on Brooklyn?  I'm having a hard time placing it.

Thanks!

Re: Pendleton Heights rocks!

Thanks for the info on the Temple.  That article makes it sound like a PH is full of a bunch of grumpy folk (seems like someone complained about every aspect of the project).  I'm very excited for this center to move to the neighborhood.  It develops an unused (and visible) piece of land and brings ...

i was excited to check this place out a few weeks ago, but i was kinda disappointed by the kitsch. aren't we 30-somethings done with that already? i don't remember what i had, but i was really disappointed to see a total amateurish approach to wine on the menu. riunite? um, kthxbye. it's almost as ...

northeast is not a place you hang out. you drive home and lock yourself in your house. it's not a destination anyone would care to go to unless they live there. sorry that's just how i feel. nothing against you guys. i admire your stubbornness.
