Re: Tengo Sed Cantina
Attempted to grab dinner here tonight, and was surprised when informed that the kitchen was closed. It was around 8:50 pm. The place was hopping with folks, so thought that was kind of odd that they'd bail on food (in my opinion a wee bit too early). Most of the other places are at least serving til...

Re: Kansas City + Tosspot + early 2008
Toss man, with every new picture thread you post you keep amazing me. Great work. Though i do have to confess (and it's not a bad thing) but your fish eye pics were powerful enough to disorient me and turn my gut a little.... or maybe it was that I was sitting too close to the computer screen having...

Re: I can't wait for the new smoking ban in Kansas City!
I don't think the results of any of the questions raised truly represents a 'majority' vote. Whether for or against the issues, what a lame turnout. Unfortunately like most elections in this nation, it's pretty pathetic what the voter turnout shows in this country. The results published in the star ...

Re: Raglan Road
I've tried Raglan several times since they've opened -- really impressed by their whiskey menu (one of the few places i've been to that serves John Powers - so much better than Jameson imho.) I've enjoyed all the food, though i felt the shepard's pie was way under par. The chicken rocked, as did the...

Kids in the Hall @ Uptown 4/24
I was in New York this past week and saw an add in the Village Voice that the Kids in the Hall were having a reunion tour this year. Looked it up, and they'll be in KC at the uptown April 24. Tickets went on sale this past Friday.

Re: MAC-Magazines and Coffee
It's not parking that is hurting M.A.C. - it's that people who live and work Downtown obviously are not spending enough time and money supporting this place. I have to disagree with ya there a bit on that one. There's a lot of folks living downtown who have never patronized places because of hours...

Toss man, you've given me a new appreciation of the bartle sculptures in that pic. I've never been a big fan of those, but i've also never noticed the detail of color and light on em either till your pic. I think the white lights on the sculptures overpower the smaller purples and reds usually for m...

I was way off about those horses. It was a cattle drive. Just watched about 30 or so cows get run down Grand towards the power and light district.

There's currently about 20 horses and a small crowd gathered in the middle of 10th street in front of the federal reserve. Figure these are our mounties for the arena? ... or maybe the feds are offering hay rides?

Re: Wizards 2007
I'm off to New York City to see the wizards play at Giants stadium tomorrow night. If we win this game, we're in the playoffs. The game is on metrosports at 6:30, so you soccer fans / bar hounds out there see if you can get some local downtown spots to turn the game on. I'll try and bring back some...

This was the second night Mango room started expanding their hours. They will now start staying open till midnight Fridays and Saturdays. They had a pretty good crowd near 11:00 tonight. Glad to see it happen. Give em some late night support if you have a chance.

Great game tonight at the stadium that ended in a tie. Much more exciting than the LA game. Shame the crowds couldn't have turned out for this one.

2:45 am and can't sleep cause the folks upstairs are banging crap around. Whenever they walk across their floor, I can feel the vibrations shake the walls. Sounds like they're moving furniture or something while stomping in heavy soled shoes. Can anyone recommend a good reliable (ie: not associate...

Re: 10th & Wyandotte garage to be demolished?
On a related note, I wish something could be done with Shopper's Parkade at 11th and Grand. Surely, they can do something to improve the facade. It's one of the most unsightly buildings downtown. Last October, Kevin Collison reported that the Alexander Company (who converted the professional buil...

This one had the highest attendance for a home game so far this season at over 13,800. There was a great energy in the stadium tonight. Hell of a second half too. KC now leads the Eastern Division --- Booyah!

I like that they double their space as a gallery as well and participate in the neighborhood. During first friday, they had folks standing outside inviting people in to see the space and paintings. They did a good job with the space.

Jose Burciaga's gamewinning goal from Saturday is up for goal of the week this week. Burciaga's kick in the last minute of that game was phenomenal. I missed the game the day of and had caught the replay on metrosports channel (having purposely avoided seeing scores till I could watch it -- which i...
