Re: Whole Foods mixed-use project @ 51/Oak

Just bought a house on Oak a few blocks from this development and couldn't be more excited. Sure there will be some added traffic but I don't mind. Between that and the Google fiber announcement today, what better way to say "Welcome back to KC!"

Re: The forum is trashed, can we turn it around before it's too late?

I realized a while ago that this forum quit being any fun for me since I had to start moderating.  I had always been moderator, but it was just recently this site started demanding a lot of moderation.  Once that started, my time on this forum went from enjoying conversations and BS'ing with people ...

You can there turn on the option to get email of any PM's.  You can do a lot in your profile if you just hunt around for it.
I have this option checked but it's not notifying me either.  :(

Re: H&R Block Construction Photos

I don't think it is so black and white.  Over half the block on that side of the street will be the entry plaza to H&R Block.  It's one thing if an entire block-long stretch is a blank wall, but I think you can have variations in how open or closed the wall along the sidewalk is.  I'm sure this...

Cincinnati - Over the Rhine (birds eye)

Pretty awesome shot of one of Cincinnati's less safe neighborhoods.  Gentrification has started full swing though.  This is why I say Cincinnati and Kansas City, in an urban sense, are not very comparable. http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=39.112551~-84.517782&style=o&lvl=1&s...

Don't you know?  St. Louisans ONLY come to this website to defend it from our vicious attacks.

ANOTHER thread gets hijaked.

This is getting incredibly old.  So this is why I left those two posts with green dots.

If I did it right, you won't be left w/ those dots very long.  This is just me saying enough is enough.

The ones who get bitchslapped the most are more often than not the ones that ask for it.  The "you get what you give" policy goes a long way in social situations.

Re: I quit!

I agree w/ Highlander that we need the bar back, but KCP is probably sick of me asking for it ;). I don't think the quality of the site is necessarily correlated to number of members.  This place was pretty boring when I first joined in 2002.  IMO it was at it's height around late 2004, when it had ...

Re: Moving to KC in 2007

I don't think the northland will ever surpass JoCo.  I hope it doesn't.  To me it's preferable over Johnson County because it's less popular, and not as congested.  "with regards to joco, he really only spoke the truth. sorry if it hurts." Point rx was making is that all this JoCo bitching...

Re: Moving to KC in 2007

God, thankfully the Ohioans on skyscraperpage were much more mature than Devin when I asked them this question.  They were very helpful. Moving2KC - ignore people like Devin.  There are a hundred threads in which they can throw tantrums about JoCo. Johnson county is a fine place to raise a family, a...

Re: New "positions"

Those of us who use this to educate ourselves and stay informed about the ongoings in DT have to wade through pages and pages of ridiculous posts to find one tidbit of information.  This is something the mods are fully aware of and are trying to address.  The nonsense on here has gotten out of hand...

Wow I had never seen that video before that was awesome.  Hard for me to tell what you were looking at in that picture....but the supercell that went over I-70 was what's known as a "high precipitation" supercell....where the tornado is accompanied by a lot of rain.  Also since everyone wa...
