Re: Howard Johnson’s

Nope. They were busy doing a lot of work inside for awhile. That chute has been there for awhile but not seeing much activity. Not sure what’s happening. No one seems to know.

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

For quite a few of the establishments that have left Zona Rosa the volume of business wasn’t the issue. Unreasonable lease hikes and other squabbles with the management led to their exit. At least according to the folks I’ve talked to. Of course several retailers and restaurants have been closing st...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ

An 'activist shopper' I'm not and use many of the Amazon Prime services but now reluctant to renew given the 'fear culture' stories increasing. Thought at first some workers may be overstating the culture but then similar stories appearing with Whole Foods too. If AMZ recognizes this and makes chan...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

Close enough. A couple blocks south. Still only a few minutes drive for most northlanders. Kind of like downtown If you figure from just north of the river Bayer is 3x farther away from the northland than downtown is. Bayer is about 25 blocks south of the river, downtown starts at the river. By thi...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

Saw yesterday Zona Rosa is 59% vacant. Really good example to prove to cities to stop approving more retail before the supporting residential is built. How do you get people to move to the Northland when all the high paying jobs in KC are all within a couple miles of I-435 & I-35 in JoCo? I exp...

Howard Johnson’s

Lots of activity happening at old Howard Johnson hotel on Prairie View. Sign for condos that were once planned for that building is gone. New trees planted last week around parking lot. Anyone know what’s going on?

It's a Texas Roadhouse (or some other similar type steakhouse restaurant) if I remember correctly.

Interesting. Doesn't look big enough from the road. I wouldn't have guessed that.

Re: The state of Texas : Mexico can have it back

OK, I actually lived in San Antonio for four years, and my in-laws still do live there, so I get back once a year or so.  I'm going to have to defend the honor of one of my favorite cities in the country.   There is the King William District and the Blue Star Arts Complex south of downtow...

Some of you guys need to actually go back and read some stuff he's been writing for years.  ANyone who thinks he's pro-suburb has eaten a HUGE bowl  of brain tumors for breakfast...he despises the burbs and especially the use of Tax Incentives in burbs.  Yael is so incredibly LIKE 90% of the pos...
