Re: Rams leaving St. Louis?
As the NFL moves closer to returning to Los Angeles, the dominos are falling in a way that has some speculating that the Oakland Raiders could end up in St. Louis when all is said and done. Re: The KCMO School District
what I continue to find interesting in NKC HS is more diverse than most of the KCMO schools. It's roughly 60% white. The southern northland is one place people move to when they leave the KCPSD when they want a quality education. That's the problem with integration, it doesn't help when the black a...

Re: The News Room, closed
that being said, what would you say the KU/MU split is in KC? Depends very much on which part of the region. I would estimate that anywhere north of the river and the eastern burbs (Independence, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, etc.) are heavily MU biased, while all of JoCo and points south and west ar...

Re: The KCMO School District
Lincoln is a great school, but it's a lottery to get in. It's not big enough to handle 500 more students that AL would provide. Not sure where you've read/heard that. Currently, it's test scores, first come, first served. But yes, space would become an issue. Lincoln isn't even at full capacity, is...

Re: The KCMO School District
From what I hear about the question/argument of "why not have AL kids test in as well?"is this general Charter school rule: "Charter schools operate independently from the local district, and they are not allowed to have admissions criteria. For example, a charter school cannot requi...

Re: The KCMO School District
[...but the net impact of AL on the district's surplus buildings is essentially zero. As is AL's impact on keeping people from moving to the burbs. Not true. I have at least five families that I know that have moved to Kansas because they didn't get picked in the AL lottery system. They couldn't af...

Re: The KCMO School District
The best thing that could happen to downtown with schools is to split off and join the NKC district. Districts already cross county borders so no worries there. NKC HS is 10 minutes from downtown. Van Horn and it's feeders moved to Independence schools so there's a precedent already. what is the po...

Re: Slate: Why St. Louis should move to Illinois
Then explain to me how Kathleen Sebelius, a Democrat, got elected as governor of Kansas, and Dennis Moore, a Democrat, got elected as Congressman? They weren't elected by rural Kansas voters. The only reason they were able to be elected in Kansas is because of suburban voters in the KC Metro, who a...

Does GigaPower have more bandwith than uverse that only lets you have so many HD streams at once before bandwith is reduced?

Re: Rams leaving St. Louis?
Nixon says deals are in place with Ameren and the railroad to make available the stadium site. As I mentioned earlier, Rams aren't and never were going anywhere. Just wanted their free stadium on the taxpayer dime, and would lower themselves to any amount of shameful behavior to get it...sad to see...

what about a drugstore in the building Block controls?earthling wrote:Highwoods does not acknowledge there are Plaza residents, so no. I've seen many urbane CVS/Walgreens that size on E coast, and Duane Reade's in NYC. They use taller shelves.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Nearly every high rent touristy/entertainment district on the scale of the Plaza (with residential hirises surrounding it) has a CVS or Walgreens (if not a local drugstore). is that space even big enough for a CVS or Walgreens? could a local drugstore afford the rent? is Highwoods even interested i...

http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2015/02/02/cerner-employee-talent-expansion.html With Cerner's acquisition of Siemen's Health Services, their employee count jumped 6,000 employees to a total of 22,000 employees. Re: Rams leaving St. Louis?
nightlife strip remaining on north broadway (like the blues used to have in downtown dogtown) I have heard good things about this. Sadly never made it into the old barn across from Forest Park. I simply can't imagine that the NFL leaves the STL market (would bet heavily against it happening), but i...

Re: Rams leaving St. Louis?
gosh, i guess you would think san antonio and austin could support an NFL team. st. louis is a weirdly small NFL TV market. i think that indy and nashville really cut into that market that the cardinals own, and i've seen plenty of bears/cardinals crossover in the larger central illinois cities. th...
