Re: favorite under-the-radar mexican places in the kansas city area?

I do. This probably comes off as a bit of a cop-out, and I haven't tried them all, but in my experience they tend to be FAR more hit than miss so it seems likely that most of them are worth checking out. My top favorite spots never seem to make it very long, I'm not sure whether this means I have ba...

Re: favorite under-the-radar mexican places in the kansas city area?

Given over 40 languages spoken on NE side am surprised not to see more variety of eats outside a couple Vietnamese and an E African. But that's a lot of Mexi for one stretch. We've had several come and go. The diversity is great, but the populations may not be quite dense enough to sustain restaura...

Don't feed the troll. Unless you think you can bait it into doing something banworthy. If it is who I suspect, that shouldn't be difficult. I guess that would solve the problem.

Stranger Things got banned?

Huh? No.

Mestizo was Aaron Sanchez from Chopped et al, and as far as I know he actually owned it and showed up there occasionally.

Fair enough that the resto business is hard, I'd sure as hell not try it.

Re: Tom Colicchio-involved "Food Hall" to Mission Mall site?

Are any of these TV celeb chef suburban satellite spots ever good? Mestizo didn't last very long iirc. I may just be overly cynical, but it does seem a bit like these coastal celebs sometimes think they can get away with mediocrity in flyover country because we're plebs.

Isn't the current vogue to be disproportionately outraged at every real or imagined slight? Or do I spend too much time online, where basically everyone is their worst possible self most of the time?

El Camino and San Antonio do. There are probably others, but I suspect most places just do a pastor-like marinade.

Re: Six Light

Either way it's a shame he's gone. His contributions were valuable and I genuinely liked the guy, insofar as one can like internet strangers. It's unfortunate that he couldn't seem to shake off criticism (although to be fair, some of it was a bit needlessly incessant imo) or resist calling people na...

Did I miss a recent doxing drama? I was kind of wondering this as well but I figured my asking would lead to re-doxing Yea you did miss it. DaveKCMO turns out to be Dave Johnson. It was a big surprise for most of us here. Hah. For the record someone pasted some stuff that had some PII in it and the...

Re: Six Light

This is getting a bit dangerously close to doxing, and we've already had enough of that kind of drama around here lately. That said, I would be pretty astounded if there were corporate executives around here caring about what internet plebs think. It would take 15 seconds for cordish security to fi...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I appreciate the show of attempting to get along and find common ground, I just don’t think it will happen on either side. I’m also not sure why we have to bend over backwards for businesses makings millions of dollars and having to spend a miniscule percentage of that when residents in the distric...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

How about bike taxis with drivers who can pre-wand parties heading to Westport and drop them off outside their destination, then return them to streetcar stop afterwards? One of those things that could be clever, or stupid.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

No idea how well the new routes are performing, but I could get to London for barely more than I spent to get to San Antonio earlier this year. Granted it was on super short notice and somewhat more expensive than normal, but still. Pretty cool imo.
