Re: Sherman Williams seeking new World HQ

They'll pretend to be looking for an HQ with the threat of moving so they can milk the most possible from the local incentive teat before settling on something in the Cleveland area, playing offers from desperate cities off each other until they feel they can't possibly squeeze any more blood out of...

Re: 1900 Grand Blvd

But you will be able to park your auto mobile next to the street car and go on ad ventures through out the city with out having to worry. Parking is very difficult and you people do not under stand that we are now evolved to the point that the only way we can possibly be comfort able with existing a...

Re: Make Grand Grand

Oh my, a new tenant in 12 Wyandotte Plaza? That's nice. Maybe Executive Hills will be able to use the extra money to fix the elevators. God knows they spend enough of it power washing the bird crap off the sketchily installed loose tiles everywhere around that building.

Making any considerations for a train that isn't coming before the new building is EOL would be kind of silly anyway.

I would probably prefer to share the road with professional and definitely insured bus drivers than random citizens who may or may not be drunk, insured, high, texting, etc.

Re: Street Eats and Interesting Counters

Silver Spoon is fine for mediocre diner fare, but it's very much in the reheated from the Sysco truck vein. With Longan, the Chinese place I mentioned, it doesn't really make any difference what you get because there are like six different menu items which are all basically the same (delicious) ingr...

I love the Chinese counter in the old Kentaco shack, where Colonel Sanders still grins at customers from the Pepsi fountain.

Re: Pursuing FREE City-Wide Bus

presumably the value in a real free city-wide bus system would be freeing people who previously had no choice but to tie up significant percentages of their available funds in acquiring and maintaining vehicles. nobody's going to be able to do that for a trial run. so the extent to which you see "f...

I think my favorite was when he changed the css and all the forum names and everything as though this were actually a KRANG fan page. That also really pissed people off. And was also extremely funny.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

To add to the strangeness, my lunch buddy and I were leaving Beignet and heading back toward the 5th Street stop; when we got almost to Minsky's, a streetcar pulled into the stop, so we figured we'd have to catch it when it looped back around to Delaware. No big deal, but before we even got to the D...

Did the overhead sign say anything like out of service or something? People in the train?

Check a mirror and make sure you are still, uh, visible?
Didn't notice an out of service sign, and there were pax. Appeared to stop at the library stop. I dunno, just weird.

Re: Saxon at the Midland (formerly Midland Office Building)

Or, you know, we could not artificially deflate rents with complex regulations that ultimately just make a few people rich and screw poor people while simultaneously ensuring that no landlord ever invests in renovations because why bother. That was the takeaway I had from the NPR piece on rent contr...
