Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

I’ve heard this project could change depending on if adjacent properties are also acquired.

Re: NFL Draft

I’d love to see team video projected into the outside of Union Station like was done recently for the centennial. https://vimeo.com/105484455 You could even announce the picks that way for the first round.

Re: NFL Draft

It's more about getting together with fellow football fans, supporting your team as they pick draftees you hope will lead them to a Super Bowl, and getting drunk. Looking at the Nashville stats, they mainly drew regional visitors. I think Nashville was so successful because fans could watch a littl...

Re: Historic Old Northeast

Sometimes people join a message board and want to fly in with afterburners on announcing their arrival. Unfortunately, they usually burn up everyone around them and can’t get out of the carnage themselves. I’m hoping John can make a recovery instead of always being a negative Nancy.

Kansas City is the preferred host of the 2023 NFL Draft. Official announcement coming soon.
Officially awarded. Any chance this helps push the streetcar extension forward? Would be really hard to have in place by 2023 though.

She won my vote with the debates last night. I got the feeling Lucas was saying yes to everyone and telling them what they wanted to hear. When there are hundreds of citizen groups pulling in every direction, you need someone who will say no.

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press

What a deal for the buyer! Get $42m over 15 years on a $30m purchase plus you get the building at the end. You have to think the Star owner is just trying to avoid bankruptcy at this point.

Re: The KCMO School District

Just because there are more from other races shouldn’t cause appreciation of the history of the school to change. Absolutely, but it does change the perception of ownership, which from the article is clearly problematic for the superintendent. Yes, the superintendent is right in the middle. The Sou...

Re: The KCMO School District

My prediction is that it will continue to see a decrease in its African American population until the school board feels the heat from both sides and finally reopens Southwest HS. This is pretty interesting. In terms of local racial history, we couldn't be talking about two schools further apart. I...

Speaking of H&R Block, did they vacate the space on 39th and Main next to the Hawthorne? Someone might have already stated this, so apologies if that is the case.
I saw someone looking at that space today. I can’t imagine it will be available long.

The RideKC scooters (and e-bikes) are powered by Drop Mobility. Download the app here: http://ridekcbike.com/

Spin is now owned by Ford. Excited to see how they launch here. Lots of choices.
Are ride prices the same for all? Curious of their different schemes.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

I’d rather have new construction like this than have the Federal Reserve converted to hotel. Not that I’m not glad it’s being redone, but it would be much better as residential and seems to just be a hotel to avoid parking requirements.

They're not going to plop down a Target or affordable housing on this lot. I think limited tif here makes sense. Just wish they could present it in a better way. Ain’t that the truth! They did the same thing with that building across the street they wanted to build green. Terrible PR. Even that it’...

And is saturation bad? It will drive down nightly rates, push older hotels to remodel or convert to affordable housing and is a positive for getting big events and conventions. This--to many--would come across as a ridiculous statement. It appears you were smoking weed before writing it. Well, I di...

The east side usually makes up 60% of votes in an election
That has been shrinking with population transitions. I think I remember it well below 50% last election.
