More details?
Main and 12th? in front of CCS and coffee shop about an hour ago. About 20 people in red with signs, crosses and bullhorns. Literally, almost saw someone hit turning right because they were distracted by the bullhorn and activity. Dangerous.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

The people with bullhorns and crosses are going to get a pedestrian hurt DT. I saw someone making a right turn almost hit someone crossing because they were getting yelled at with a megaphone. I’m all for free speech and protest, but not in an extremely dangerous way.

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

Serious question, what's with the gerrymandering (e.g. Home Depot/Costco development, PVCC, western Westport)? The NW little bit looks to grab the garage next to 1 Park Place. There has been discussion about that garage being sold to a developer to build on top of or next to. So, it appears they wa...

Re: Uptown Theatre district improvements

I think its a mistake if it rebrands into something else like as a jazz only club or something. Not to be KC sacrilegious, but do people (especially people under 30) really like jazz? I hear people talking using jazz as an attraction for the city, but I don’t really know anyone who would travel to ...

Why?
Tore down a two story building directly on the streetcar line and replaced it with another two story building while giving incentives to move a company five blocks. Such a waste of a good spot that already had a building...and we had to pay for it.

Re: OFFICIAL - Hampton Inn (16th & Main)

At nara for the first time in awhile and realized this Hampton eliminated their skyline view. while that may suck for nara there his no way a ground floor place should have had a view of the skyline that long. I was at Nara last night and thought the same thing. I also wonder if Naras own lot will ...

Re: Three Light

I really think this will be an office tower. The market is starting to change. I think Strata will be fully leased way before its even open. Businesses are kind of like sheep in that way, they want to follow the crowd to the most prestigious location. That’s why we have all the new banks now in the ...

Well, I would hope so! It shouldn’t take years to build out a little Picklemans.
It has literally been years.

Re: North Oak MAX

Why do we always have to keep these lines running north/south? Same with traffic configurations. Everything orients for quicker traffic from “nice” suburbs to DT. Is there really no demand for an ECII/47th Max line or are we worried about crossing lines or “problems” on the Plaza?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Repetition works for memorization. The repeat mailings are all about helping people memorize their name. The overwhelming majority of voters aren't as educated as you are on who's running and the issues. A flyer is going to be their main interaction. So, you’re saying voters are generally dumb and ...

I’ve gotten the same glossy flier from Justus the last five days straight in the mail. If repeat messaging is effective, she’ll win the election hands down. I have gotten about 5 of these flyers as well, why would they do this, it makes me not want to vote for her now It makes me think she really, ...

Ok, he and Clay Chastain win the opening election. Who do you vote for in the runoff between the two? False choice. They're both on city hall's "no fly" list. It would be like choosing between Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn for President. I don’t know! According to Henry Klein, the impossible happ...

The General wants to move the airport to the sports complex ("inside Jackson County"), move the stadiums to the east side, and build a new "car plant".

Re: Brookside

There's also the issue of whether comparable housing is even available. As you point out, many neighborhoods on the east side are blighted. So the assumption that affordable, inhabitable rentals are readily available is probably not accurate. Perhaps not rentals, but why not buy on the east side? I...
