I have no problem with other opinions.  Obviously everyone sees things differently.  Just didn't know why so many didn't like it.  I was a little surprised.

Re: New Paris Skyscraper

Interesting.  I personally think it looks pretty good.  A little creepy in a good way.  The idea of the "moving eyelids" of light, especially on this, could be very interesting.  Nice artistic vision. Not sure why everyone's hatin on this.  Are things that are different really that scary? ...

or, like, go to the library. Cute, very cute. You really think I haven't done that?  I was just asking a simple question.  If you don't have an answer, then don't respond.  Simple as that.  What kind of research would it be if I didn't try all my options?  On the other hand, Bahua, thanks for the i...

Re: Midtown Apartment Help

who is wanting this research? It's just research for a historic preservation class I am taking.  Maybe I should have made that more clear.  As far as I know, no one is actually planning on tearing them down.  I am just trying to find out information that would maybe make these considered historical...

Midtown Apartment Help

Hi all, I am doing a research paper on the two 3-story apartment buildings that face midtown marketplace on Linwood (more specifically across from Taco Bell and in between Gates and Linwood Super Foods).  I was just wondering if anyone happened to know anything about these places, maybe one of you l...

Cynical, huh?  If you really want to be cynical, check out the expected divorce rate for our generation .  60%.  And, of the other 40%, probably 1/2 of them will be unhappy or stick it out for kids/religious reasons/financial issues. You've got a 1 in 5 chance of being truly happy.  I would say my ...

Re: Village West

Looks really cool. But give me a break, many of you would love it if something like this were plunked down in KCMO. If you want to hate the location, that's fine, I'll agree, but its petty to diss what it looks like simply because its in Kansas. I agree.  I'm actually pretty impressed with how Vill...

Nice looking project there DTO!  It's good to see more investment going into this part of Omaha. Joemoney, It must feel real good knowing that you're a fantastic person.  The only good people in this world are the rich and successful.  Poor people be damned!  It's their own damn fault for not having...

What about the portion along Wyandotte?  I didn't think that was a part of the original plan, yet it seems as though it is now in the updated rendering.

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District

So is it just me, or has the site plan grown a little bit from the first renderings?  Does this mean they have more tenants than they originally expected?  That would be a good sign.

Re: development across from Gillham Row

I assume you're talking about the Founders at Union Hill.  It's quite a big development that incorporates housing along with retail on McGee I believe.  It's supposedly modeled after the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago.  It should be a great development for the area.  I too am impressed by how ...

Hmm... It seemed to me like it was open last night.  I saw a lot of people inside looking at wine and such.  Was this just because of First Friday maybe?  Or am I just crazy?

I made it to First Friday for the first time last night, and I must say I'm very impressed!  The streets were bustling with so much energy.  Very nice to see.  I thought a lot of the galleries were pretty cool too.  First Fridays seem like a look into the future for Kansas City to me.  Downtown is t...

Here is something to consider!?!?!?  If we could get every KCskyscraper member together for a kegger......or......for a huge bong party which would be better.  My prediction (half joking) if we drank their would be fist fights between member and with the opposite (pot) we would have the development...

Re: 50s/Main development

What do you propose to do? I'm not saying I have that answer.  There are different ways that we could go about enhancing this area.  This is not to say that what DST has in plan won't be grand.  I just really wish they wouldn't tear everything down, especially since much of it is useful.  This area...
