If the 3/8 cent tax was extended for other services rather than stadiums they could certainly improve.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 7:19 pm Losing baseball in the city isn’t the end of the world, but it definitely wouldn’t help the tax case in this city I can assure you, and no services will improve just because they leave.

Here is the 70s plan - haven't found anything from the 80s.TheLastGentleman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:31 pm Great detective work! You wouldn't happen to be able to find a rendering of the unbuilt UMB tower at 11th and Walnut, would you?

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)
Back in the late eighties downtown office boom there was a post modern mid rise with a curved facade along the intersection proposed. The Star had renderings. Would love to be able to find said renderings. The Mid-continent public library has full KC star archives online, going back to the 1880s. F...

The whole thing is overkill and creates more issues than it solves. Connecting the trail is a nice idea, but not at the cost of change this requires.
I'd like to see the overgrown "natural" corner at Border Star turned into something productive more than anything.

Re: Brookside
Language aside, the neighborhood does not want all of the traffic coming south on Brookside Blvd funneling directly south to Brookside Road. This is likely what will happen. Brookside Rd will get more traffic that would normally jog to Wornall and there is currently very little traffic on it and la...

While we would lose the tennis courts  I like the realignment Brookside BLVD north of Meyer with Brookside BLVD south of Meyer. Much cleaner intersection and allows for center medians. Would also get a nice little park. There is no Brookside Blvd south of Meyer. It is Brookside Road and it is...

AL middle school (6-8) is at Armour. When fully phased in both Cherry and Oak will be K-5. If you are outside the preference zone, the lottery assigns a location. You do not get to pick. So far we are happy with AL kindergarten. Some aspects seem a bit disorganized at times, but I think the campus s...

Would like to see St. Lukes vacate all of their property north of 43rd. Plenty of space for a huge garage where they just tore down the building no SE corner of 43rd & Wornall.

Did Wornall even connect through the plaza between Ward Parkway and 47th St? Seems strange it stops at Ward Parkway and starts back up a couple blocks east.

There is also the large grass lot on 44th and Main owned by American Century (wasn't that supposed to become a sculpture garden?). I know that is a little disconnected from the Plaza. I really think the east side of Mill Creek Park could be reconfigured and given some attention so that it would int...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Looks like Google Fiber has raised price of TV service for new customers or upgrades from $60/month to $90/month. With the $10 box fee, price could be double what it was at launch. I wonder how long before Google gets out of the TV side and just offers internet. Market is moving that way anyway and ...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
Hmm, they raised TV box from $5 to $10/mo. That must be new to new customers, I'm still showing $5/mo on my bill. Have heard they have tested TV to Chromecast but not sure if they'll release it. After 2 years renting you own the TV boxes and can sell to someone else, meaning you could also buy from...

I cannot believe Murray's couldn't be sold for more as a going concern vs auction of the equipment.
They could have doubled or tripled business with a few tweaks, including better hours.

Not sure the elimination of sidewalk special assessments is going to be a selling point to all of those who have already paid to replace sidewalks on their streets.

I was in Papa Keno's the other day for lunch and the building was shaking from the demo work - glad it didn't fall down too.
