Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

$2000 a month gets you a $350k home or a 2 bed 2 bath apartment with one parking spot. I think most people would opt for a house. $350k in KC gets you a pretty sweet place.

Re: Proposed: Hyatt House Hotel- 900 Broadway

I think we need to reexamine how we asses surface parking.

Also need landscaping and attendant requirements.

Re: Proposed: Hyatt House Hotel- 900 Broadway

The parking lot where the hotel will be built is currently paying $52 annually in property taxes.
WTF!?!?

Re: We need a new airport!!!

A (Marine Air Terminal) is the only renovation 5 or 6 gates in a historic building. B has been torn down and the new terminal opened Sunday. C and D are being torn down and are being rebuilt. All three will be one terminal in the end. https://www.amny.com/transit/laguardia-airport-construction-expla...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

The new 37 gate LGA Delta terminal is slated at 4 billion. It's a teardown and rebuild that is supposed to open in 2020. Sounds like we are getting off cheap.

Wow, I'm shocked at how high our numbers are. Right up there with Las Vagas Monorail and ahead of many cities much larger than ours.
Note: it is ridership per mile, not total ridership.
Still very impressive compared to the other streetcars.
Ah, well that's different.

More rural areas and more hilly terrain. Places like Lake Lotawana bring down the entire Lee's Summit School District.

Imagine being so rich you buy a mansion instead of paying for a hotel for one week out of the year.
Probably going to make 3 mil on the flip.

Re: Politics

I think Florida is lost. If they couldn't go blue this year what will change in 2020? Ohio has a chance since Brown got reelected statewide, but will be difficult as the gop will control all of the statehouse. Iowa will be difficult for the same reason. Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania will do ...

There are lots of other improvements I'd like to see done before that anyways. The main one being a redo of the north lawn
Exactly. Always wanted that lawn to look like Versailles, the one in France, not Missouri.

It looks like something called Streetcar Grille & Tavern is going into the retail space of the Helzberg garage at 1524 Main St:

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

Not sure how many projectors they are using but for a 32k lumen laser phosphor projector your a talking 100 grand each (no bulbs, no maintenance required). So I'm guessing 400k to 600k to purchase. Anyone know how many projectors they are using? In the summer you wouldn't be able to start projecting...

Yes, I realized that after I posted. I think I forget since it seems unbelievable that it is still the case.

I think I would deliberately leave town every election.
Or have plans to be out of town. How could you know that those plans would change?
