Rather have them and use them wisely than not have the option.

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village

Generally, think we are near the end of needing subsidizes in the DT area. I don't think we are close to ending TIF's/abatements. Rents aren't rising fast enough to keep up with construction cost.

The sheer mass of those buildings is astounding.

You clearly don't understand how television works. Hint: it's edited and you don't get all the facts. Hey I just want to point out this quote as an example of the prime cunty-ness on this forum. I don't mean to single out this one member. It's not just one person, this is the 'culture' the board ha...

Re: Troost developments

If the board is hoping for 200% increase why not set your value at 350-450 higher and then when you appeal they drop it to 200% and you feel like you won. I bet that as what's happening.

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

From an outside perspective you have to think this has to be a sign of progress. When original TIFs start to expire DT the city should begin to see a rapid growth in revenue. These residential property tax increases are just the beginning. You do have to wonder how this will be spent. Will city off...

Re: Parlor - 1707 Locust

I'm skeptical. I have an irrational love of sliders, and I don't really think there's any need for them to be "gourmet-ified". I would take a cozy burger with American cheese for a buck every time over something with gruyere and fried onion straws or whatever at over three times the price. In most ...

Will never be a fan of the current heart/fountain image - feels like the 70s.
The logo in the 70s-80s was the knot. The fountain wasn't adopted unit 1992

While I'd be fine with either of the designs I've submitted here, I think I actually like the first one a bit better.... https://i.imgur.com/TA8V5pf.png The fountain is just framed better IMO. I can see the appeal of the exact triangles of the second one though. TLG I think we should crowdfund a mu...

At some point they are going to have to move the highway out of the flood plain. This is just going to get worse

Re: "Flashcube" Building - 720 Main

It’s interesting that the preservation community looks at this more broadly than many urbanists do. I recognize that this existence of this building is an affront to the current mode of urbanist thinking. But if it’s an apartment building full of tax-paying city dwellers, doesn’t that represent bot...

Historic is not a synonym for Good. It is for important. And if it was the first, or early, example of this shit box style, then it is historic.

Not a bad view. Not close enough for detail but the project won’t grow out of view like with the hotel camera This project will takeup almost the entire current view. I think the work will extend off camera to the left. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D5k6-tcWwAA-Fyt?format=jpg&name=small Looks like th...
