Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Don't forget the LA Stadium will be open by then. It can have a temporary capacity of up to 100k people. Got to think it will be the front-runner for the final.

I guess my point was if you're going to make it look like an office building, make it a nice modern office building.

And if you are right on the nose with your comment. Just look at their main campus.

Is that the new Social Security office/dialysis clinic that they resurrected the original 1983 plans for?

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I disagree on higher attendance. DT only has 20-40k residents, depending on how you draw the line. So you would be putting a stadium in a low-density area with poor automotive access, relatively speaking. And yes, TSC is in a VERY low population area. But isn't all of KC low-density population? So s...

I'm sure they do make good money, but If they are legit contractors then remember all the overhead that comes with running a company, bonding, insurance, marketing and taxes are no small cost. That's all calculated into the hourly rate.

It's a long and complicated switchover. I'm not an economist so I don't know how this will play out, or how it has played out in similar scenarios, but it's going to be a bumpy ride. One thing to realize is that many times businesses use these kind of involuntary price increases as new permanent ba...

Most of our steel is imported from Canada anyway, something like three times as much as China. Mexico even imports more steel than China. There is a nail manufacture in Poplar Bluff that is laying off half it's crew because they import steel from Mexico and pricing is killing them. The steel industr...

Re: East Bottoms: Former Ramada Conference / Howard Johnsons / Park Place

I don't think MCC offers any residential housing, do they? It's kind of a big step and investment to get into that side of the business. It seems the handful of community colleges that do offer housing are in more rural locations. Not a commuter school system like MCC. And if they did offer housing...

How about the Streetcar TDD building a mega garage near a stop, or several garages near stops. It would serve all the people in the TDD and further the vision of why we have the streetcar to start with.

Tear down brand new apartments, got it. The trench is way skinnier than a stadium. New apartments? WTF are you talking about? The trench. Yes, it is skinner. That's why I said OVER the trench. The highway running under. Don't think that would be smart from a security standpoint. You wouldn't want s...

Love it. If I was granted only one wish for DT it would be moving 35 off of SW Trafficway. Not my second wish but I would build a stadium (rolling roof), west of Bartle, over the highway trench, so it could be leveraged for convention space. City views would be great too. Tear down brand new apartm...

Went down there last nite. Very nice. The problem at the moment is it's not walkable to anything but a park. I know all that should change but I've been burnt enough by "future amenities" that I would have to let someone else be the pioneer. When I'm ready to go in five years I'm sure the...
