Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.
The car and bicycle lanes on Armour west of Cherry Street have been shifted south, with long term construction barriers. I assume this is for the Cherry & Armour new construction project.

Re: The KCMO School District
And Westport was the neighborhood school for midtown. This argument is disingenuous as both SW and Westport are closed due to lack of students. We can't wish a school to exist due to history; the reality is there is a neighborhood school, it is only 2.5 miles from Brookside, and people on the west s...

Re: The KCMO School District
Or the residents clamoring to re-open Southwest as a 'choice' school could instead utilize their actual neighborhood high school, Southeast. The Southwest argument that parents want a choice school that also somehow functions as a neighborhood school rings false. Until the Country Club/Brookside/Wal...

The White Castle in Midtown (NE corner of Linwood/Gillham) and the one in Grandview (Truman Corners) were fixtures for me in my late teens/early twenties.

Right, Dixie Bell was in the Rieger until 2000, and then the DB complex was across the street.
1822 was still Tootsies in 2002, at least that's how I remember it!

Re: Troost developments
That argument makes sense but I'm not sure how much weight it carries for an upper middle-to-middle class resident who may be able to comfortably adjust their monthly budget if taxes went up. And the potential gains in amenities within walking distance of their home isn't compelling because they've...

I remember dancing at that location in the early 'aughts. I think it was the second Tootsies location? Can't remember, only recall that it was 2001-2002.

Re: Next Mayor 2019
Huh. The KCEB still has the total around 40K votes in all. 54K would be 25% of registered KCMO voters - which (sadly) seems pretty good for a municipal primary. KCUR probably misspoke then. KCEB is for KCMO in Jackson County, only. It says it right on the top of the webpage: "Kansas City Board...

I was in the basement venue last Saturday night, from 7-10, listening to Vaughan Harrison perform. The place was full, and the intimate yet open nature of the space served it well.

Re: One North Development
Probably to slow traffic Rhetorical question :D - there are other ways to slow traffic. The windy access road decreases pedestrian visibility and wastes space. I'm mainly questioning site planner's tendency to copy / paste suburban concepts. This isn't really design as much as it's arbitrary land m...
