Need a Phoenix Resident Stat!

OK, I know this I'm in the wrong town, but I know there is a member or 2 here that live in Phoenix. I just received a call from a recruiter about an AMAZING job in Phoenix. I've visited there several times, and like it, and looking at homes I find prices have pretty much skyrocketed. I have my eye o...

I don't understand why the St. Louis board is so dead, there are many StL'ers on other sites like SSP. I think the STL Rising board is dead because it is not nearly as user friendly as this board. I've tried numerous times to post there, just to have my message dissapear into thin air or it would a...

I drive by the Hollywood Lucky Strike daily on my way home from work. This bowling alley actually has a red velvet rope, bouncers, and a line a half block long to get in. Way too trendy.

one reason why KC (and the midwest) is pretty cool.

How are housing costs in West Hollywood and Santa Monica? House prices here are obnoxious. I live in the Beverlywood neighborhood of LA, which is wedged in between the Beverly Hills and West Hollywood city limits. You can get a rehabbed 1920's era spanish style 2 bed 1 bath with a 1 car garage for ...

Wow a whole 24 units....what a commitment to building a diverse new urbanism development.

Hopefully this is just phase 1 of something much more substantial?

whatever happened to these chains & local stores?

I think you're right KC0KEK, they must have just pulled out of Missouri. I know of 2 that were in STL and one is now a bank and the other is a Chili's.

Black Eyed Pea = deep fried corn on the cob...I wonder why they folded? Arthur Treacher's = still alive and well in south Florida Piggly Wiggly = I know of one still open in Washington, MO Kroger = still big in Ohio, and here in LA Kroger is called Ralphs's, but all store brand items are Kroger. Any...

Los Angeles & San Diego

Thanks for posting your pics and thoughts on Los Angeles, it makes me feel much better about my job interview there next Wednesday. You're right, we have these images ingrained in us from an early age about places like LA and New York and usually things aren't nearly as bad as we think they will be....

KC Metro Area

I think Neilsen viewing areas are based on whoever is viewing a certain city's television stations. For instance Cape Girardeau and Hannibal receive Saint Louis television stations yet neither are in the metro area. Like where I'm at in Florida, I'm within the Daytona Beach metropolitan area but wit...

UPS delivery question

Are you sure the tracking info didn't mean that it arrived at the UPS distribution loading dock at 9:44 am? Or possibly, like where I work, we get 200-250 UPS and FedEx packages a day, and several times a week we get a box or 2 that wasn't supposed to come here. We just give it back the UPS guy the ...

I was 12 when The Day After first aired. I remember it was on a Sunday and the next day all we talked about at school was how scared we were.

Ah the good old days....

Do you figure you can still rent that?

You rock bahua, my thoughts exactly. I get tired of hearing the same broken record over and over and over again about how crappy Saint Louis is.
