Thank you sir; looks like we’ll see flights in/out on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays next summer.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

It was 3x/week this season. I just checked Icelandair’s Web site; their summer 2019 flight schedule still shows as 3x/week there.

Source for the updated schedule?

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Is SEA going away forever? i thought that was just a seasonal flight I had flown Southwest to Seattle in late February 2017, so I think it had been year-round for at least the past couple years. Given that Alaska always had and Delta began directs on that route this year, Southwest reducing and/or ...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

2. Icelandair loads have been roughly 72% to/from KC so far. Just over a month left in the season but loads have slipped since school started back up. So thats roughly 800 of the 7-10 thousand weekly KC-Euorpe travelers are picking Icelandair. (Roughly 500-700 daily OD during the summer). Pretty go...

Re: Politics

The baseline level of public interest in young white women going missing is orders of magnitude higher than it is for anyone else, so there's that. I'm curious how your both-sidesing comment holds in this instance - there's not all that much to say about mass murders/our embarrassingly high homicide...

Driver licensing in most European countries is considerably more time-consuming, difficult to pass, expensive, and...actually teaches you how to drive compared to what passes for driver testing and licensing here.

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity

They've had signs up on the railing for the past week or so that say "Under New Management / Extensively Remodeled", so I don't know if that's a step in getting consent, they got their liquor license back while appealing, or something else. In the past 2-3 weeks (if not longer than that) Stanford's...

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

KC had a pretty active Ingress community - and nearly all of them moved over to Pokemon Go.

So while the casual players have fallen away, the dedicated players are as active as ever...and summer weekend afternoons at the Plaza is a very popular location to meet up for coordinated Pokemon-ing.

Meshuggah opened today. We got there just after 7; by a quarter after, the line was to the door.

I was primed to make another joke about the neverending Pickleman's project (as the posters covering the windows appear to have fallen down yet again recently), but I'll be damned - they were issued a new permit today.

My initial thought was "doesn't this seem to happen every couple years somewhere in the country?"

Sure enough, (per Wikipedia) this is the fifth fatal incident since 2010. :-(

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed

As best I can tell, Bird must have something buried in their Terms & Conditions that if you don't have a helmet, wearing a baseball cap backwards while rocking your fraternity's service day T-shirt is also considered an acceptable safety precaution.

This was mildly funny for a couple weeks in April, but it's time for an admin to check the IPs "Darlene" posts from to see which Rag regular still thinks this is amusing.

I saw on Twitter that Icelandair is offering roundtrips to KEF for $349 - starting *next week* through the end of September.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Yes; the Chiefs are already planning for that contingency . Arrowhead Stadium would likely need to be trimmed to a rectangle shape rather than the existing curvature along the corners, requiring the temporary removal of some of the football stadium’s seats. “That’s absolutely in consideration,” Chie...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Oof. I checked what a roundtrip to Reykjavik on Icelandair in mid-September currently runs - it's about $200 more than connecting flights there on the usual suspects.

FWIW, you can book Icelandair flights using Alaska miles, too.

Personal seat license payments for season tickets are no longer tax-deductible, but I don't know if other sorts of donations to athletic departments still are.

Given that the only one I heard about was this specific change, I suspect that everything else that previously was tax-deductible still is.

All units are being inspected by a lender today, so...I suspect that the building either has been, or shortly will be, sold.
