Re: Fixing p&l traffic backups

Are short-term street closures in P&L being pushed to map data providers? If not, that would be very good first step.

Re: Fixing p&l traffic backups

I know most/all have been mentioned elsewhere, but.... 1 - It would be fantastic if the Sprint Center and the Midland developed (then promoted the hell out of on social media) "how to get here" routes that directed people to the major garages without crossing Main (or at least avoided doin...

Re: Midtown McDonald's Rebuild

I suspect it's a condition of retaining the franchise rights - McDonald's are torn down and rebuilt in the same location much, much more frequently than any other fast-food chain.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

I find it odd that the plane is going to be sitting idle at KC for like 20 hours, seems like they could find a better use for that 20 hours. Hell they could run a 5th freedom route from KC to Vancouver and still have like 10 hours spare. A comment in The Points Guy article on the new route noted th...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Icelandair already flies to SEA and PDX, so the only theoretical gains we'd see from Alaska codesharing would be for people coming from SFO or SAN.

Icelandair is also a JetBlue codeshare, so this flight *might* be of some interest to JetBlue if they want to enter the market here.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

My garage charges $85/month for non-residents, and I'm pretty sure that's on the higher end of monthly parking rates in the loop.

Re: Amenities missing from downtown

We're coming up on two years in February since Zaina was forced to move.

Who knew that slightly renovating a small restaurant space to become another restaurant was so difficult?

Re: Kansas City Tour Trolleys, time to bring them back!

Hey, it's 2017 and we have two companies providing tourist-oriented tours of KC. Anyway, I found a vaguely appropriate threat to post this Pitch article, wherein David Hudnall uses going on a double-decker tour as a framing device to point out that he *really* doesn't like the direction that downtow...

Re: DIVERSITY

Genetic genealogy is an interest of mine and there are a lot of folks of colonial American ancestry who go all in on it - the tl;dr version is that the consumer-level autosomal tests (Ancestry, 23andMe, etc.) have a very hard time reliably distinguishing NW European ethnicities apart, as (surprise!)...

Re: DIVERSITY

The primary European ancestry in the upland South (and the places those folks then migrated to) is from the British Isles, but due to poor/lost documentation compared to places further north and many of the people in the "Scots-Irish" ethnicity group only living in Ireland for a few genera...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

They are currently planning on 2 clubs. USO and ..... None of the legacy carriers has a large enough presence here to bother with operating a lounge of their own, so I'd bet on it being "The Club at MCI" (Priority Pass, etc.), with an outside chance of it being an Amex Centurion lounge in...

Yeah, noticed that a few days ago.

“County Road Ice House” is less lawsuit-inviting, I assume.

If your state doesn't touch an ocean or Great Lake, it's almost assuredly "here be dragons" territory for JetBlue.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

STL's Departures page lists 88 SW flights for the remainder of the day. Without putting too much work into it, I'm guessing they have about 130-140/day overall.

KC has about 70 SW flights/day currently.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Cranky Flier has a follow-up article to the one he posted last week; this one is an interview with a Southwest exec.

Per the follow-up article, SW currently has about 25-30 flights/day going through St. Louis that it would prefer to have going through KC.
