Westport Plaza Assaults

statistics aside, the fact is gang kids have found an easy target in the neighborhoods surrounding the plaza and have exploited it all winter to the present. As the weather gets better this will only increase unless something is done. Fox 4 did a report from westport last week stating how increased ...

Westport Plaza Assaults

If you carry a concealed weapon and try to use it in an assault situation, you greatly increase your chance of getting shot. It provides a false sense of security. At best with a concealed weapon law lifted, both yourself and the mugger would be shot instead of just losing your wallet and it ending ...

Westport Plaza Assaults

More bad news, a girl who lives in my apartment on poets corner was assaulted by 3 teenagers, one with a sawed off shot gun or long semi auto gun. The teenagers were loitering on the front steps of our building at around 10 o'clock pm. Until recently, the gang kids were staying North of 47th. She go...

Bass Pro - DOWNTOWN?

suburbanites have neglected downtown for fifty years, such an attraction would bring money and people downtown but at what cost. Example, The plaza used to be a great urban neighborhood, now it is a JOCO commuter playground and the long time residents stay on the outside while their neighborhoods fa...

Gutted apartment building ... WTF?

at the last downtown development meeting, Vicki Noteis(the city development director) said that the developer they had in line for the building had just pulled off the project. Because of the size of the building and expensive aspestos removal, the city said that they cannot afford to tear it down t...

Miller Plaza

this sounds like a great project. The area is in need of a boost after the recent robberies and this would upgrade the neighborhood. Living in Paris and being her grandfather built some of the nicest apartments in the midwest hopefully means this re-development will have the same quality as the Euro...

Brush Creek Restaurant

This project could ruin the visual aesthetic of brush creek if done as poorly as some recent Plaza additions. Personally I dont see how you can avoid a design nightmere with adding a restaurant in this place. If they add one, they need to keep adding to avoid breaking up the linear element that the ...

Westport Plaza Assaults

Was approached by two armed men on Monday as I waited to get into freinds apartment on north side of plaza. Their intention was to get me inside the building before they robbed me so nowone could see. They were hiding behind a rock wall across the street. Just wanted to alert Westport/Plaza-46th str...

Bed, Bath, & Beyond? What the HELL is Highwoods doing?

doesnt suprise me, the whole area has become more suburban/urban in the last decade. Not only the loss of local businesses but the addition of pre-fab-faux architecture that fits more with town center than the plaza.

Kirkwood development is awesome!

Also looked at the Kirkwood Website. I have always liked the wooded area between the Walnuts and Sulgrave as I walk the area frequently. At first I didnt like the idea of taking away all that open space to put upper class residential. Though, after looking at Kirkwoods website, it was pretty impresi...
