Re: Midtown McDonald's Rebuild

This location is disgustingly filthy. Used to be the one thing you could count on at McD's was cleanliness standards. Besides, the owner campaigned against the last citywide light rail vote. Boycott.

Maybe more than that. These types of uses have tall floor heights due to the generous space they build in above the ceiling for all the systems.

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

There are plans in the not distant future for a high end restaurant in the Cadillac bldng. The developer wants to put a triangular building in to the hill where McGee meets Gillham and put the rental office and a new gym in it. He then wants to attract a chef restaurant in the current gym spot. No t...

It's an Abnos owned building. Expect it to sit in that wrecked state for years.

Re: We need a new airport!!!

The sci-fi movie "Passengers" has a circular waterfall fountain like the one proposed for the new terminal, only not two story. Appears actually to use very little water with sheet of water held together by surface tension.

He may have better luck with the value of the Romanelli shops on Gregory. That Egyptian mausoleum next door to the Oak bldng would make a cool townhouse.

Re: Hospital Hill activity

Certainly will be the most prominent building on Hospital Hill. Will visually extend the Crown Center skyline to the east, as the Sheraton is just across Gillham. Sort of resembles the KU Med Cambridge tower, but curvaceous. Also like the cantilevered west end and the stairwell enclosed in clear gla...

Wondering about the glass. Modern high rise glass usually is reflective to a degree that to the outside in daylight it is opaque. One does not need to concern about privacy or walking about au naturale during the daytime, only at night when interior lighting is on. Here you can see quite clearly int...

Did it actually sell? I just remember an asking price(which I doubted she could get). Some of the sixties apartments on that stretch are notorious. Who wants the most expensive house on a sketchy block? You could get a brand new house on Union Hill for less with a better modern floor plan and a two ...
