Re: Three Light

I am not advocating for the little bldng at 14th and Wyandotte. I am just saying cleaned up and occupied would be better than the current situation. Those 2 low rise structures are close to the scale of the Cordish 14th St strip. That Studebaker bldng on se corner 14th and Baltimore was a Deco gem. ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

Their map is once again showing the station at Linwood instead of 31st. Have they changed their mind again?

Re: Three Light

IBM is on HKC's most endangered by list. Both those buildings could be cleaned up nicely and bring life into an otherwise lively corridor.

Re: New Broadway Bridge

Those renderings showing the placement of the new 35 to 69 flyovers lead me to think that they are going to be a more important aesthetic concern of everyday life than the river span. They will tower over all the remaining buildings in that area. Our version of the gateway to the West are freeway ra...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

The bridge would only have been a big inconvenience having to go up and down escalators or elevators at each end.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Don't quite get the indoor fountain. Looks like they had a hole in the ceiling, put up a tarp, and now the rain is pouring through.

Of all the buildings on the Plaza that have been threatened with demolition, this oft remuddled ugly ill-proportioned thing I would be happy to lose.

Re: Jenkin's Building to be CONDOS!

I do not know if any of the garage supports the high rise, or if it was just designed to accommodate whatever support was needed for the high rise.
Where the lobby areas open up to the streets, there was a small open plaza in the 5 or 6 intervening years.

Re: Jenkin's Building to be CONDOS!

The garage was built in conjunction with the Towne Pavillion, it's skybrigdges, and urban shopping mall scheme. 1201 Walnut was planned for a later date, similar to the Strata idea on its block.

Waddell & Reed to erect 20 story headquarters at 9th & Main! Oops, wasn't that a 1967 headline? Can't believe people can still get excited for the town's oldest prostitute.

Re: River Market Realignment, Buck O'Neil Bridge

Going to need some major rock cutting into the bluff to fit another lane or two for a ramp from northbound 35 directly to new bridge. Existing ramp to 6th is already tight. Will this eat up some of new dog park and remains of West Terrace Park? Not to mention homeless encampments.

Re: OFFICIAL - Loews Convention Hotel (formerly Hyatt)

All renderings show some kind of panels inside the frame of the parking deck openings. Finishing touches to be done also include screening on the roof of the meeting/parking structure and of course the glass peak on top the corner(the architectural equivalent of the squiggle on top a soft serve ice ...
