Re: StL Blues break ground for new practice facility in StL Co

I could honestly see the next Blues Arena being built in the burbs also, following the line of thinking with the Braves new stadium. I'm sure Blues country is much larger in the West County areas rather than South County and the Illinois Side as far as i know, the financing on the scottrade renovat...

Re: Lions Choice

I'm willing to bet I went on and on and on about it on this forum near the time I first registered in Dec 2002 since that location closed in Aug 2002 after opening in 1999.

You either weren't registered or weren't paying attention!

Re: Lions Choice

The original KC location at 119th/Metcalf (where the existing Unforked is currently located) was amazing. I thought for sure my family alone would keep it in business. The Olathe location in front of Menard's was originally scheduled to be open by October. There have been some hiccups in t...

If that is what it takes to get one done, I’d be all for it.

Re: News from Omaha

I visited Omaha back in 2012 or 13 - a couple years after TD Ameritrade Stadium hosted it's first CWS. Downtown, including the Old Market, was looking fantastic. This is going to take the renewal to the next level.

The 127th/Mur-Len project sounds very interesting. That corner needs something, that's for sure.

Re: Branson

My initial thought was "doesn't this seem to happen every couple years somewhere in the country?" Sure enough, (per Wikipedia) this is the fifth fatal incident since 2010 . :-( Only 2 of the fatal accidents were the result of a DUKW sinking in water. The other 5 were pedestrian/auto accidents (1 wa...

Re: Branson

Horrible Tragedy last night. If NTSB warned about this particular Duck Boat then why didn't the state do anything about them? All the life jackets in the world wouldn't have saved most people because the way this Duck Boat is designed. It really makes me question if I want to do any kind of Tourist...

Re: Hong Kong

Hi all I recently moved from midtown to Hong Kong. I was wondering if you all would mind if I shared some of what I've noticed here in regards to urban development. I'm not sure how to post pictures to this forum. I know Hong Kong is obviously different but I've noticed a few things that I think co...

Re: 95 Metcalf North Plan submitted to city

A bit off thread, I know, but - every now and then I have reason to drive southbound down Metcalf from I-35. Yesterday was the most recent. I continue to be impressed by the building projects that are giving that the entire corridor a much needed face lift. I'm not sure (maybe someone can help me ou...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

This is exactly where I have always envisioned a downtown stadium in KC being built. Not sure why there are high rises directly north of the stadium in your rendering cutting off the view of downtown, but, otherwise it's exactly as I've envisioned it since working near Wash Park back in the late 90'...

Re: wtf is happening to w. 39th?!

I'd guess there are more than enough people in KCK/Midtown/Downtown/Plaza/Brookside to patronize 39th street that not much of the 39th street clientele hails from Olathe or Blue Springs. Actually 39th Street is lousy with JO license plates.  On a weekend night easily half of the cars are from Joco....

New restaurant - Olathe

The Peanut plans to open another location in the far south end of the Mur-Len Plaza shopping center. Doors expected to open sometime in October 2018.
