Re: Lions Choice

Here's what we have in Olathe that immediately come to mind:

Hy-Vee
Price Chopper
Hen House
Wal Mart Market
Aldi
Whole Foods
Payless Foods
Natural Grocers

Re: Lions Choice

I can live with or without Braum's and Whataburger. They are good, but in the end, are just more burger options like Culver's and Freddy's. White Castle isn't a hamburger joint, it's White Castle....in a league of it's very own with no competition. Not sure what to make of those other places you men...

Re: Lions Choice

Your son knows what's up! Lion's Choice is the bomb. When visiting family in StL, my son and I have to hit up the trifecta - Shakespeare's Pizza (on the way in CoMo), Lion's Choice and White Castle.

It will be a glorious day if/when White Castle returns to the KC metro.

Re: Lions Choice

The Olathe location was originally scheduled to open in October, but a wetter than normal late summer/early fall has pushed it back to the late Dec date. No doubt this past weekend's snow will push the Dec date back to January.

Lion's Choice in Olathe at 135th/Greenwood is close. They've been slowed mainly by weather, but hope to be operating by end of December.

Re: Casey's

LOL....those people over there are so fussy about everything. I'm surprised the dental building on the southeast corner was built out. They fought that tooth and nail. The fact Aldi was ever built is amazing too.

A new Casey's would push them over the collective edge.

Re: Lenexa CityCenter

I've been playing pickup hockey on the regular for a couple of years at the outdoor rink at Indian Valley Park in OP. The group that coordinates aka Kansas City Ball Hockey on facebook and IG has worked a deal for the group to play indoors at the Lenexa Community Center on Tuesday nights. The court ...

Re: Garmin Expansion

Anyone have detailed information (timeline), drawings, etc regarding new automobile access to the Garmin campus from the north? I'm hearing an access road will join/give access from Old Hwy 56/Church St (around the existing concrete facility), underneath I-35 and connect up with the existing Mahaffi...

I wish there were plans for an outdoor ice sheet similar to Lee's Summit new facility.

or Dixons?
I know this is wandering off the OP track, but.....is Dixon's good stuff? A friend invited me, but couldn't go. Am considering making it a point to get there another time.

Re: Interstate 70 KC to St Louis

The sweet spot on I-70 is the speed limit. Set the cruise at 70 and you almost never have to hit the brakes. Can't explain why but it works. I drive I-70 and I-29 a couple of times a month. I couldn't agree more. I've driven I-70 back and forth from KC to StL to KC hundreds of time (it seems) since...

Re: Interstate 70 KC to St Louis

i'm not sure why anyone would cut through st. louis to go to chicago from kc... About 6 or 7 years ago, my wife and I drove to the Valparaiso area of Indiana out of Olathe. We took 35 to 80 to Chicagoland. For grins (and to stop for some Lion's Choice) we came back KC using 55 / 270 / 70. If we had...

Re: People Watching in KC

Nomads or Bux...one of those coffee shops along 39th near KU Med are perfect for watching everything from professionals to homeless to students to goths out doing whatever it is they do, going wherever it is they go.

I love people-watching.

Re: StL Blues break ground for new practice facility in StL Co

I could honestly see the next Blues Arena being built in the burbs also, following the line of thinking with the Braves new stadium. I'm sure Blues country is much larger in the West County areas rather than South County and the Illinois Side as far as i know, the financing on the scottrade renovat...

I'm willing to bet I went on and on and on about it on this forum near the time I first registered in Dec 2002 since that location closed in Aug 2002 after opening in 1999.

You either weren't registered or weren't paying attention!
