Re: Branson

It really makes me question if I want to do any kind of Tourist Related activities (Boat Tour, Go Karts, Carnivals, Amusement Parks, Water Parks) ever again in the State of Missouri and Kansas with their lack of oversight. I understand why'd you be questioning that. But do you really think Missouri...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

I'm a little concerned that the condition of Arrowhead may also work against Kansas City. Even after the renovations, there's not much of a "wow" factor at Arrowhead, at least not when compared to the competition. Arrowhead does have an advantage in terms of size. But looks at what it's up against: ...

Re: Politics

It was a policy that could have been changed at any time by Trump. It didn't require any action by Congress. But, this is what I don't understand: If it was policy that could have been changed anytime by Trump, then what was the point of the executive order? Why wouldn't Trump just change the polic...

Re: Politics

So the Dems have told Trump they aren't willing to work with him on the border issue so he can clean up his own mess. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, I agree that if it's Trump's mess, they aren't obligated to help him clean it up. On the other hand, I feel if Democrats care about...

Re: Politics

Ok, there's a lot to respond to and I only have a short of amount of time to post, so here's my best attempt with time constraints: I don't think that if the same thing happened while Obama was president, then it was Obama merely "dropping the ball." It should have been an outrage then too. Nobody i...

Yes, they hid the cages full of kids for 8 years despite gop congressional oversight for 6 of them. As phuqueue has already pointed out, there's no shortage of news stories about the way the Obama administration handled kids... 03/11/2015, Washington Post: Mexican kids held for months as punishment...

Re: Politics

This has been going on at the border for decades. While it's sad and shocking, it's really not "news," is it? So why is it making news now? Well... Trump's approval rating is highest it's ever been (according to "The Hill"). The economy is the best in decades. Black unemployment is at an all-time lo...

Re: Politics

No laws were broken by these kis or there parents. It's not illegal to seek asylum. They came to the front door and knocked. 1. I do not believe it illegal to seek asylum. Neither is taking away these kids from their parents. If border patrol believe the adults are a threat to the kids (among other...

We are a society of laws. Breaking the law has consequences. In each link you posted, someone had broken a law or multiple laws.

Re: Politics

I've seen several news stories saying the economy is the best it's been in decades. If the economy was headed up over the last 8 years, then it has really improved over the last year and a half. While the economy is better than it's been over the previous 8 years, I do wonder how strong it is. If it...

Re: Divide MO into two states?

No. The cities in the lower one third of Missouri provide economic value to the state. Branson is a tourist trap, Springfield has the 2nd largest university in the state, and Joplin is trying to make a comeback. Too much revenue would be lost.

Re: Voter registration

Ok, so you're dealing the Kansas City election board, which unfortunately isn't best known for it's competence, efficiency, or even integrity. I'll spare you the details of some of my worst experiences with the KCEB. But the KCEB isn't above violating state and federal laws. Anyway, if you want to g...

Re: Voter registration

I would double check with your local election board. If you moved within the KCMO part of Jackson County, you would contact the Kansas City election board (not the Jackson County election board). Otherwise, you'd contact the election board of Cass, Clay or Platte County if you live within the city l...

Re: Big 12 Tournament

I haven't really noticed an "influx" of out of towners this year. It's been mostly local fans of the various teams. Still a lot of people, just not as many from out of town as in past years.
