Re: Bluhawk

Looks like Bluhawk Hockey Arena might end up being a bust and Price Brothers are going after the Great Mall Site for a Hockey Arena/Redevelopment. I'm starting to think these Price Brothers guys are a bunch of Con Artists just chasing Star Bonds from City to City https://www.kansascity.com/news/poli...

Re: Politics

Doesn't the FAA hold a lot of power in the shutdown, like tomorrow they could say "If this government isn't back up and we are not paid tomorrow we are not working due to the financial stress our employees have" Stress is not a good thing when it comes to an Air Traffic Controller. The entire airspa...

Kohl's is one retail place i never understood and think it's all psychological based on the sales they run but usually all the clothes are jacked up to begin with so a lot of time you are paying the normal prices even though you are getting it "on sale"

Re: Regional GDP

Slovenia actually has a slightly lower population, so they have a higher GDP per capita. Crazy to think that there are countries that are that small. Even though they have a smaller GDP, and presumably a much smaller budget than the state of Missouri, their educational system is much better. 12th b...

Re: To go up against Topgolf

Does anyone know if KC has the most entertainment per capita outside of tourist places like Orlando and Vegas? I swear we have an oversaturation of entertainment venues like Arcade Bars, Family Arcade venues (power play/Dave and busters) Axe Throwing venues, Escape Rooms, Bowling Megaplexes, we even...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

Sounds like Justin Meyer knows a few members of Moxy Air’s new development team. Hopefully we can get Moxy service or become a focus city. Moxy is a start up airline by the same guy who started JetBlue, Azul and who owns TAP and a few others. I have heard that this airline will focus heavily on tec...

1. STL Reddit is rumoring that Alaska Air is looking into opening a Midwest hub at Lambert. 2. STL has tried to pursue Icelandair as a TATL add. While unlikely to announce for ‘19 it still is possible something happens this month. FI and AS are codeshare partners so I guess if AS started a huh in S...

I am gonna say that Rockafire closes by October. The place is usually dead on a Saturday and the overall atmosphere kind of sucks.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

This is just proving how much City Market is missing the boat by not having a Christkindlmarkt on December weekend evenings. Serve Christmas-themed cocktails in the shelter with garage doors. Do a Christmas light show on the Steamboat Museum building. They'd make a killing. They have been doing thi...

Re: Need cleveland ideas

Wonder if a healthy Cleveland downtown has anything to do with denser inner ring suburbs? Cleveland has lots of decent sized suburbs all within 6-10 miles of downtown. It's much different here where some of our larger suburbs are all 15-25 miles from downtown. Milwaukee is kind of the same way u hav...

Re: Wonderscope, Childrens Museum to Merge

Like just about every other cultural attraction in the area, wish this was going somewhere in the core. Would be nice to see Wonderscope grow into a legit children's museum, something KC currently lacks (Rabbit Hole in NKC looks very cool too). Prairiefire Museum is another recent cultural facility...

Phoenix Suns owner is threatening to move team to Las Vegas or Seattle unless a new arena is built or improved. 3 of the 4 Sports teams in Phoenix are under threat or could very easily be gone in the next decade. The Coyotes have been thinking about moving forever and there is talk they are moving t...

Re: Are downtown apartment occupancy rapidly trending down?

You would honestly have to convince a lot of city staff that first. I’ve heard a number of relatively seasoned, mid level and higher employees express some pretty negative opinions on the core, streetcar, development in downtown. Then someone should clean house. And, no, I’m not kidding. It's becau...

Re: Westport

I could also imagine that the restaurant industry/entertainment is becoming more competitive in KC. There are SO many restaurants and cool districts... DWNTWN, the bottoms, Crossroads, NKC, E39, even Brookside/Waldo/East Brookside, etc etc are all becoming more popular destinations. I almost never ...
