Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I know people always say that but in reality people have to drive. This is not New York city. Do you not have a car? It would not be easy to live here without one. If it was harder to park in this city I would actually want to use public transportation and walk but the fact is this city is super ea...

Re: Misc Crossroads News

City Barrel Brewery is not even open yet but it's already moving from 1916 Grand Blvd to 1728 Holmes, the plans are also to be less straight up brewery and more like Brewery Emperial with a full kitchen and executive chef. Also, does anyone hate the name? City Barrel? It sounds super generic, like t...

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd

I'd rather see Prospect be renamed - there's such a stigma with it (and Troost) being a dividing line, a name change would be a great opportunity to rebrand. And wasn't Prospect the epicenter of the '68 riots that happened around the time of King's murder? I really think Paseo makes the most sense ...

Re: Westport

Snow & co ownership just seems to just not know what they are doing... Its funny this is a quote from Snow and Co as to one of the reasons why they moved from Crossroads to Westport “The Crossroads is having an identity crisis right now. It’s not sure what it’s going to be,” said Jerry Nevins, ...

Yes, we need less concepts from Johnny Kaw's and more concept from the Beer Kitchen/Char Bar people in Westport.

I wish they would tear down the structure ASAP. It sticks out so much and its kind of eerie driving by it.

Re: Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort

The Co-Owner has been arrested in connection to the Verruckt death. I think there is a decent chance Schlitterbahn just pulls out of Kansas in the next couple years. They probably got a bunch of money to build the thing, why even bother with operating in another state when all your other locations a...

Re: Westport

Speaking of places shutting down, what happened to Snow and Co (I really hated that name)? They went from having a Crossroads location to a 2nd location in Gladstone, then closing Gladstone, then moving to Westport and closing that in a little over a year. I'll admit I didn't really like most of the...

All they gotta do is show the show that Real Sports Video and the Grandview Leadership will say no instantly. For every Grandview trying to do this about a 100 other cities are trying to do the same thing.

Re: Gateway Sports Village in Grandview

Its not just soccer its happening to all sports and its hitting towns all over the country, in fact this would be a great John Oliver segment. The traveling sports industrial complex is a fricking scam and parents are wasting thousands on their kids for this scam of traveling/club sports. Local spor...

Re: Big 12 Tournament

Tickets were easily available for 5-15 in the upper and ends of lower level. I think a big reason is Iowa State having a down year. They are one of biggest reasons for big attendance, some isu plan vacations around the big 12 tourney
