Re: Missouri Amtrak Service

You know this could be a good thing, instead of Amtrak worrying about service across the country with old nostalgic routes, why don't they focus on frequency between places and expand out from that. I would love to be able to take the Train to St Louis or Chicago more but the times are not always gr...

Its actually Studio 6 extended stay, but they are owned by Motel 6.

I plan on going Thursday, I really hope its a success. That location is just horrible. You almost need one of those Liberty Tax Statue of Liberties or a sign holder to know something exists in that strip

Yes, this was an OHP meeting actually. Please come to the next one, we will be discussing the OPUS development more. I believe the next will be on June 21st. Have you gotten signed up for the streetcar election yet? We're having an OHP signup at Mother Earth Coffee this Sunday from 11-6. events all...

Makes sense, the largest warehouse inventory metros are almost always going to places with wide open spaces and lots of cheap land that you can build on.

1. Increase Density in the Urban Core, once we achieve that I think the stuff like Light Rail, Commuter rail will follow. The urban core is not very populated to demand this. 2. Focus on Urban Bike Trails - JoCo has a bike plan and they follow it, I feel like KCMO in the urban parts just laugh it of...

Re: KC wants to be NCAA Championship destination

I kind of wish they would move the Final Four out of the Mega Stadiums. Did you see the story after the championship game. The UNC side couldn't even fill its student section so they gave ASU students free tickets to sit in those seats and cheer for UNC.

Couldn't the Freeway issues in Atlanta be a blessing in disguise for some people? Its possible that some people never rode MARTA or used the Bus system to commute might just stick to commuting that way and not have to deal with the huge traffic issues in ATL

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

The photo says Opening Day '55 - A's/Tigers. So, would have to be Municipal Stadium at 22nd and Brooklyn, I would think. That is some crazy parking. Some of those cars are not going to be able to leave early to beat traffic. I'm sure people weren't in a hurry back in those days and most didn't prob...

Doesn't look like Cultivate Fest 2017 is happening. They should already have info for any city if it was coming back this year.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Atlanta and Phoenix seem like logical choices over KC if they need more venue locations. Atlanta and Phoenix have both doubled in population since 1990 and they also have a strong foreign population, a large airport,, large hotel capacity and new stadiums. Kansas City would almost seem like the Mana...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

If its a Joint Bid, I don't think KC stands a chance. Most likely 12 venues

These seem the most likely venues
1. Mexico City
2. Guadalajara
3. LA
4. Bay Area
5. Seattle or Vancouver
5. Toronto
7. Chicago
8. Boston Area
9. New York
10. DC or Philly
11. Someplace in Florida
12. Someplace in Texas

One of my friends who lives on Wyandotte told me this weekend that the hotel on the old XO spot is supposed to break ground in August. Do they still planning on being a Townplace Suites? If so its the lower quality extended stay hotel of the Marriott portfolio, they are not terrible but they are no...

The New IFC show called Brockmire is based on an Announcer for the Team from Kansas City but I think he then goes to the Minor Leagues for saying bad stuff over the air. Looks like Acadmie Lafeyette has purchased the Derrick Thomas Acadmey. Not sure if this will be for a new high school or just expansion for its current classes.

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L

I know two separate groups of people that were mugged in Nutterville in 2014 and 2015. Maybe that has clouded my perception - or maybe they've made an effort to clean it up. I still won't walk over there late at night. I also remember an incident back in I believe 2013 where a group of people calle...
