Re: Rankings, lists, and such

Even without looking I knew Minneapolis would be #1. I really love Minneapolis, its basically like the same city as Portland without all the Portland Prices in a more compact city. Its really a great city to explore neighborhoods, more people need to get up there, its an easy 6 hour drive.

Maybe we need Kansas City Missouri International Airport, most flight attendants say "Welcome to Kansas" over the loudspeaker when landing.

Altar'D State looks to be a Christian/Faith Based Clothing store, https://www.racked.com/2015/9/9/9280177/altard-state-christian-fashion-stores. It might be a good location since there are people that visit from NW Arkansas, Oklahoma and other parts that to be heavily religious. On the opposite end ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

OKC actually has one named after a guy but its Will Rogers

This airport name change to MLK makes no sense though because he not from here, never really visited KC and the common theme in funky named airports is that all those people have made an impact in those cities.

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

I'm surprised we haven't seen a team split recently, I would think the TV revenues would be huge since that is where most of the owners are making their money. I actually think we could see one with Buffalo and Toronto for the Bills I doubt St Louis ever gets a team after the whole ABA Spirit of St ...

Why would the name of the terminal hurt new flights? Because no one knows where Martin Luther King JR Airport is. What common people from outside areas even know where these airports area? John Wayne Airport Bob Hope Airport Ted Stevens Airport Ronald Reagan Airport General Mitchell Airport Logan A...

You don't _need_ HQs to fill up hotel rooms but helps. I kind of agree with this statment. Take a look at the Twin Cities. They have tons of huge powerful companies like 3M, General Mills, Cargill, Best Buy, Polaris, United Healthcare and they are all scatered in suburban areas all over the twin ci...

Re: Tom Colicchio-involved "Food Hall" to Mission Mall site?

How have we not hit some kind of restaurant bubble? There are so many new restaurants popping up, i'm having trouble keeping up. I am kind of cynical of these concepts popping up in the Suburbs because I just don't see the density to support them, these things work in Europe because people can walk ...

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants

Don't think this was mentioned on here but all the Doughnut Lounges closed up last week. I was never really a fan of the place. I thought the Doughnuts really sucked and the place was kind of an identity crisis, was it trying to be a doughnut place or a restaurant or a bar? It did seem very odd that...

There are of course different styles of travelers depending on trip. Some are adventurous who go for AirBNB, some are biz people who just want a practical place like Marriott flags, some want a boutique hotel. I may want any of those depending on type of trip, often wanting to be in walking distanc...

Re: The Future of Crown Center

I expect the hotel industry to chain in the next 10-20 years unless Airbnb just ends up dying. With the rise of Airbnb younger people and even business travelers want to be in walkable residential/cool neighborhoods. They don't care about large flagship hotels in the business district, and they cert...

Re: favorite under-the-radar mexican places in the kansas city area?

I am big fan of outdoor wood fired grill places you can find all over KCK, there is just something so unique about them, it feels like you are in another country. One of our go to spots for this type of food is La CARNICERIA Grocery Store, they cook a Carne Asada, Pollo and I believe some kind of Po...

Re: Is Kansas City becoming an inverted city.

How much of this is due to the growth of Cerner? Cerner mainly hires young people and the offices are located in a good proximity to downtown (all offices are within a 15-20 min drive of downtown). If Cerner is located in Gardner with offices spread in Grain Valley and Platte City I don't think u se...

Frontier starting a new route from KCI - Non stop service to Jacksonville Fl, looks like its seasonal twice a week. I think this is the first time KC will see non stop service to Jacksonville.

Re: MegaBus service offers $1 rides from St Louis to Chicago, KC added

I'm still kind of mad Megabus bolted KC and I really thought they mishandled the route operations here. St Louis now goes to Dallas with a stop in Memphis. I always thought KC should have had a route to Dallas with Stops in Lawrence, Wichita, OKC and Norman. KC also should have had stops to Omaha an...
