Did anyone go? It seemed like it had no buzz and the weather certainly didn't help. I totally forgot about it

Re: Broadway

DLS Tire at 3744 Broadway is closing (or closed). Friends of mine who have a neighboring business inquired about buying it - apparently the property was snatched up as soon as it was listed. I hope my dream of the Plasma Center closing will come true one of these days. If the Plasma Center is gone ...

Re: KC metro growth and migration stats

Wichita city proper probably only has growth because they are annexing a lot of areas. If u Google wichita and see there city limits there is an island that is like 30 miles SW of Wichita by Viola KS. That can't be part of the city can it?

Re: Westport

All of the Qdobas are pretty much shutting down in this metro. I really think the KC market cannot be touched with fast casual Mexican cause of Chiptole and it's domiance in this market. I haven't been to Chiptole in about a year or 2 but I've been disappointed the last few visits.

Re: Daycare Options

YMCA looks like it's shutdown. Wife ran into one of the teachers today and they shutdown today without notice. It's possible Y is closing all of it's daycare centers though.

Just in time for this fad to die out.
I'm suprised nobody has opened up a rage room in the metro. A place where you pay 20-30 bucks or less if you bring your own stuff you and just start smashing stuff with hammers and bats, stuff like dishes, vases, lamps, toliets

i know you guys don't really like to talk about this stuff why/how is kansas city leading the state for 2019 murder count? some kind of narco-war?
Once the weather gets warmer I expect STL to surpass KC. Chicago murders are down this year as well cause of the cold winter

Re: NFL Draft

I am just questioning why football is played 5% of the time but talked about 95% of the time. While something like baseball is played 95% and talked about 5%. I don't even think they talk about baseball on ESPN anymore. They would rather talk about the "Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB weight gain" in April ...

Re: NFL Draft

I don't understand how the NFL draft has become this phenomenon? It's like the NFL forcefully tries to stay relevant 12 months out of year even though it's only played 5/6 months out of the year. It's also mind boggling that the sport is talked about and analysed more than it's actually played.

Re: NFL Draft

Looking at that crowd the Truman Sports complex would be the best location for hundreds of thousands Uh, no. My guess would be Grand in front of Sprint Cebter or the Plaza like on Thanksgiving. I think union station would be the best. U have the grassy hill where regular fans can watch. It would be...

Re: Companies moving downtown

its too bad we can't get Seaboard to move downtown KC. It's the only Fortune 500 HQ'd here I know this is off topic but its crazy that Minneapolis has 18 Fortune 500 in its metro good for 5th best - It has more Fortune 500 in its Metro than LA and Miami combined. I really think Minneapolis has one ...

Re: Companies moving downtown

Maybe this will start a new trend in getting foreign owned companies with Regional offices in Suburban KC to start moving downtown, it could be a good marketing plan for KC WSP (Parsons Brinkerhof) an engineering company based in Montreal recently opened a new office downtown but i don't know if its...

Re: Parlor - 1707 Locust

Oh and I had the Detroit style pizza. Holy crap. The whole time I didn't see 3 people go to the Swedish place. I was sad for them. Who really wants to pay 9 bucks for a somewhat fancy hot dog then another 5 bucks for chips or fries and you still are leaving hungry after you just dropped 15/16 bucks...

Re: KC metro growth and migration stats

If KCMO had never annexed the Northland there would have been a real threat of Olathe or Overland Park taking over KCMO as the largest individual city in the metro. I believe that would have been the first major metro to not have its principle city as the largest one in the metro, i can't think of a...

Re: KC metro growth and migration stats

I would be interested in seeing where most of the Twin Cities growth is going. I could see most of that population growth happening in Wisconsin where taxes are cheaper and home prices are a little lower
