Re: Food trucks in Kansas City.

Oppenstein has this going on every Thursday all summer: http://www.downtownkc.org/art-in-the-loop/ It includes a rotation of at least two food trucks and there are occasionally one or two others in the street. There are also food trucks that hang out at Barney Allis Plaza and the courthouse area dur...

Here's a quote from the Pitch regarding Debbie Gold: "Accurso's Italian Restaurant, at 4980 Main, closed December 23. James Beard Award-winning chef Debbie Gold is reportedly negotiating to take over the space." http://www.pitch.com/kansascity/2014-restaurant-openings-and-closings-golden-o...

It appears as though there are no tickets left for the Top Chef tour.

Re: Hickock's Southwest Bar and Grill

I was in Friday night for dinner as well. The service was quite slow, but it was rather late so maybe it was becoming more of a bar scene at that point as opposed to a restaurant.  They were supposedly out of what I originally ordered, the shrimp enchiladas, so instead I ordered the shrimp tacos. I ...

Re: 2011 Mayor's Race

I don't know about the best place, but the most entertaining place would certainly be The Westport Flea Market. That is where Funk is awaiting results.

This was also posted on their Facebook page, so it must be true!
Congrats to Hamburger Mary's!
I'm happy to hear this successful neighborhood joint is staying in the neighborhood.
(I am also glad the property owner came to their senses)

Re: 2011 Mayor's Race

I was #138 at the Bishop Spencer Place poll around 2:30 this afternoon. Seems light to me, but the guys working the poll seemed to think it was more than expected.

I hope we make some history tonight as well! Down with The Funk!!!

Re: Boulevard Chocolate Ale: The White Whale

I am happy I was able to pick up a couple of bottles, but I have yet to find it on tap before it runs out.
I do think the beer is very good, but it does not quite live up to all of the hype.

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants

I've eaten at Blanc twice.  One time my burger was solid, and the other it was incredibly disappointing.  Every time I have been to BRGR, I have had an awesome burger.  Not just good, but best burger in town good.  Perhaps I've just had some bad experiences, but I think the BRGR concept kills Blanc...

Re: Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange

I also tried the Rieger for lunch on New Year's Eve. I thought the service was great and the food was even better. I had the Cioppino and I would have to say it is the best I have ever had in the KC area. Thanks for a great lunch!
