Re: KANROCKSAS

I thought it was extremely organized as well.  Not sure I've ever been to an event that ran as smoothly as Kanrocksas did.  We went home both nights (vs camping) and never had any traffic problems coming or going;  I never had to wait in line to get water; The sound was fantastic! I actually haven't...

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants

Is Upper Deck really closed?  I can't find anything about it.

Carly Sue's in Brookside/Waldo just closed (though not surprised)

Re: Restaurant.com

it was hickock's.  i wasn't going to say b/c who knows whose fault it is.  though, i did think it odd that they stopped accepting them on 4/15...they haven't been open that long.  even to the point it's printed on their menu now they don't accept them.  i think from now on i'll just call and ask ahe...

Restaurant.com

I bought a restaurant.com coupon on Friday, went into the business that night to be told that they don't accept them anymore and haven't for about 2 weeks.  They said it wasn't their problem, they have severed ties with restaurant.com and I can get a refund from the site.  When I contacted the resta...

Re: Thailand Suggestions?

we will be with a tour guide (private tour vs big bus pre-defined one so we can choose what we want).  below is our itinerary while in the bangkok area.  i think we have a lot of the cultural/historical covered.  so we're probably looking for things to do the 2 nights there and then the 3rd day on o...

Thailand Suggestions?

A group of us are heading to Thailand in the fall and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of must see's/do's while there.  We have our schedule pretty much planned out, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Bangkok (including Ayutthaya)  - 3 days Overnight train to Chiang Mai Chiang Mai ...

Re: Morocco

It was around 2005 when we went, so not sure if that makes a difference. We did go to the tannery, I have a lot of similar pictures as you :)  I'm pretty sure we only went to the squares during the day, I remember going to traditional Moroccan dinners at night (complete with belly dancing and music ...

Re: Morocco

I spent about a week in Morocco (along with another in Spain/Portugal) a few years ago with some friends.  We took http://cosmos.com/product.aspx?content=itin&trip=16830 (even though Europe would have been fine on our own) b/c we were 3 girls in our 20s.  No matter what age, gender, race I would...

saw today they were advertising out front that they are now open (maybe just lunch??).  website doesn't show that they still serve food (don't think it's been updated since the new owners got involved), but restaurant.com has a menu http://www.1822ultralounge.com/ http://www.restaurant.com/rdc/eight...

Re: Brookside Blockbuster Closing

I would hate to see a surface lot.  I don't think there is much of a need for one anyway.  Only a few businesses around there, a many with their own small lots (and decent street parking).  I'm not sure green space right on 63rd would provide much either (are parents going to let their kids play acr...

Brookside Blockbuster Closing

The other day I made a comment about wondering when Blockbuster was going to go out of business, then saw this week they had "final sale" signs up in the windows.  Any thoughts/opinions on what could/would go in this space?  It's a pretty decent location.  Has parking.  Talked to the owner...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Is Frida's any good? I honestly have never heard of it. http://www.kcrestaurantguide.com/fridasmenu.pdf Very good. Owned by the same people who have Ixtapa (Barry Rd) and Guadalajara Cafe (103rd and State Line).  Would describe it more as an upscale Mexican restaurant ala Latin Bistro or Real Jalis...
