Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I support downtown stadium 100%. Same here. I'm not very 'online' so not seeing all the negativity described here. Between mine and a sibling's household, we're four yes votes and think the EC site tied in with the loop cap park and many other cultural institutions is a grand slam, pardon the pun.

Guys, Oak is already routed to go around the development to the east due to what they call a 'GRID' configuration.
Would it help with visibility if they renamed Truman Rd (south), Locust, 17th St. to 'Oak'?

And grand is constantly closed for concerts, events, big 12, etc. Oak is extremely vital and I will not back down on this. I get it, but Oak is gone. The plan for Grand between T-Mobile and Kansas City Live will have to be tweaked but pedestrian safety is more important than saving someone 3 minute...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

my 2 cents: I think the Crossroads location will yield a more successful outcome for the stadium and downtown. We have all thought about EV as the site for years now but ultimately I am confident it would simply be another underutilized island of low activity in KC. There is no reason, post-COVID, ...

Well, that got a lot cheaper looking after the value engineering. I guess it was screened by the trees in previous renderings, but the blank wall on the south half is no bueno.

Because it wasn’t a viable option and disconnected from the power and light distrcit entertainment core of downtown. KC is a small city, can’t afford to spread out all these assets and wait 50 years for it to all fill in. Build synergy, create the heartbeat and let it grow outward. It was connected...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?

Their own post said only 750+ residents representing 39 languages. Twenty people for every language represented if the distribution is even. Every department in the city needs to hire a translator so the dozen speakers of Amharic can interact with them? We shouldn't expect to travel anywhere outside...

Yeah I don't understand why north loop didn't get more of a look. Those lots are owned by friendly owners too There is no space Nonsense. It's larger than the EC site west of Oak and similarly has an opportunity for an outfield plaza lid over the interstate. https://i.ibb.co/D5Dy1ww/Screenshot-2024...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The news that came out yesterday about the Dunn family informs me that the stadium will go in the East Village. The East Crossroads gossip is the perfect camouflage to assist in acquiring the remaining EV parcels. You heard it here first. That article was from Dec 10, 2019 https://www.bizjournals.c...

There is a small open air Kristkindl Markt outside of Campground on its fourth year now. Most similar to ones I've visited in Chicago.

The app charges a service fee on top of the parking charge. Kiosks charge a minimum of 1 hour. How the heck can I play by the rules to run in and grab my to go order without paying a dollar for under 5 minutes of street parking?

Re: New downtown on street parking rolloout

Looks like a nice step in the right direction. When friends and family come from the burbs into downtown, they always complain about parking and the confusion in general. I don't agree with them but anything we can do to make it more simple for visitors, I support. Next, let's tackle the food deliv...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

At this time, there has only been one conceptual plan shown for East Crossroads and that one would mean losing a section of Oak St. And S. Truman...and McGee. And 16th street is added back! McGee wasn't shown as being vacated for the E Crossroads plan, but even if it was who cares? That ship sailed...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Where has a pro stadium been built over an active interstate? Man if that could happen sure that's a lot more doable but there is zero way that happens. Target Field. Blake Cordish and the mayor wouldn’t be wasting time if this wasn’t possible. I think Target field mostly comes right up against the...

From what I have knowledge of combined with the rendering. https://i.ibb.co/dcWxbNV/BBP2.png If this is the site boundaries being considered it is a lot less destructive than what was discussed months ago. One block of east crossroads east of Oak leveled instead of four and sparing the east side of...
