Wonder what Marriott brand they applied with.... Aloft is probably a bit much to ask for. They've got around 30 flags these days - who knows...
the site plan showed Moxy as the brand

All the non-progressives (Nigro, DeJanes, Cashill, etc) are supporting Lucas because they think he is malleable and can be swayed to their point of view.

They are probably correct, which is a great reason to vote for Justus.

From the site plan in that doc, it looks like the flag is expected to be a Moxy Hotel (Marriott)

Hot damn! Liking the taller height compared to 2 Light, the variety in the glass curtain wall system, and that green space in the rendering.

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building

Googled this and found this news came out a month ago. How did we miss this? https://www.435mag.com/may-2019-kc-restaurant-openings-and-closings/ I missed it too until today my wife saw a Q&A with Michael Corvino in her FB feed. I need to add 435 mag into the reading rotation. They recently had a g...

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building

Corvino will be opening a fast-casual concept called Ravenous which will have counter service facing this new courtyard. Featuring burgers, fries, and malts and building on that. Opening in July.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

What's going on to the building at 1620(ish) Grand? Sidewalk is completely closed and excavated down to the basement foundation of the building. I'm betting they're the next project to not follow the sidewalk closing policy... https://cityscenekc.com/event-space-planned-for-longtime-eyesore-buildin...

Will never be a fan of the current heart/fountain image - feels like the 70s.
The logo in the 70s-80s was the knot. The fountain wasn't adopted unit 1992
So, the 70s knot design is vintage enough that it's cool again, whereas the 90s heart fountain is in the lame period of it's lifecycle.

Re: Westport

3 stories along 39th street and the western half of 43rd is too restrictive. "Neighborhood zone" on 39th consists of car washes, a body shop, dilapadated 60s era professional office buildings. Nothing worth preserving architecturally or scale-wise. They did make the proposal to replace one of the ca...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

I think we should hold judgement until we see the actual proposal. I'm shocked a developer can build expensive underground parking and turn a profit with three floors on a relatively small lot. I'll believe it when I see it. Corrigan Station and Reverb have above ground parking. 1914 Main had ground...

Have we seen any updated renderings that show the "jagged" panels removed?
It's hard to tell from the rendering above.

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity

I don't know if this is a semi-regular occurrence, but there was some work being done this week on the Abnos-wreck at the NW corner of 10th & Oak. There are now large glass panels installed on parts of the large steel frame rooftop structure that I think is recent...and some god-awful terra cotta re...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

I mean the real alternative here is to start taxing greenland and parking lots more aggressively. I'm not sure anyone thinks we're there yet? I just wish the tif wasn't so damn long. Can't they make payments in lieu of taxes and make everyone happy here? No, in this instance you'd have to change st...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

I view this project as a reduction of current incentives. The current non-profit ownership of this land is effectively a 100% TIF which never expires. Anti-tax incentive fans should be jumping on this. If there is such market demand for this product, and they are so confident of that, then why can't...

is the market really saturated? A bunch of holiday inn express / hyatt house / indigos isn't really the same league as this hotel, at least how it's proposing itself.
The 5-star hotel market in KC is completely saturated. 0% occupancy rates currently!!
