'Tripple Crown' is being dismantled today. Anyone know where it is going? What is going in its place?
Maintenance, per @CrownCenter twitter handle. Sculpture should be back in place in a month or two.

What did you have? I ordered something that ended up being basically brown gravy on rice. I haven't been back since.

Re: OFFICIAL - The Gallerie (27th & Gillham)

I want like 100 more of those built but I can't get myself to buy those. Feels too disconnected With adjacent lots to the south and west sold off to developers, 27th & main being marketed for office development, and the streetcar extension coming (hopefully), I don't think it will feel disconnected...

The two end/corner units are under contract. The remaining 7 units are still listed. Might see more movement after they are further along.

Re: Westport

Because in 100 years when you're dead and all the buildings built today are still standing, individual automobile ownership will probably be a thing of the past. The entire concept of wasting massive swaths of land for personal automobile storage (not to mention the resources used to build storage ...

Wonder what Marriott brand they applied with.... Aloft is probably a bit much to ask for. They've got around 30 flags these days - who knows...
the site plan showed Moxy as the brand

All the non-progressives (Nigro, DeJanes, Cashill, etc) are supporting Lucas because they think he is malleable and can be swayed to their point of view.

They are probably correct, which is a great reason to vote for Justus.

From the site plan in that doc, it looks like the flag is expected to be a Moxy Hotel (Marriott)

Hot damn! Liking the taller height compared to 2 Light, the variety in the glass curtain wall system, and that green space in the rendering.

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building

Googled this and found this news came out a month ago. How did we miss this? https://www.435mag.com/may-2019-kc-restaurant-openings-and-closings/ I missed it too until today my wife saw a Q&A with Michael Corvino in her FB feed. I need to add 435 mag into the reading rotation. They recently had a g...

Corvino will be opening a fast-casual concept called Ravenous which will have counter service facing this new courtyard. Featuring burgers, fries, and malts and building on that. Opening in July.

What's going on to the building at 1620(ish) Grand? Sidewalk is completely closed and excavated down to the basement foundation of the building. I'm betting they're the next project to not follow the sidewalk closing policy... https://cityscenekc.com/event-space-planned-for-longtime-eyesore-buildin...

Will never be a fan of the current heart/fountain image - feels like the 70s.
The logo in the 70s-80s was the knot. The fountain wasn't adopted unit 1992
So, the 70s knot design is vintage enough that it's cool again, whereas the 90s heart fountain is in the lame period of it's lifecycle.

Re: Westport

3 stories along 39th street and the western half of 43rd is too restrictive. "Neighborhood zone" on 39th consists of car washes, a body shop, dilapadated 60s era professional office buildings. Nothing worth preserving architecturally or scale-wise. They did make the proposal to replace one of the ca...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

I think we should hold judgement until we see the actual proposal. I'm shocked a developer can build expensive underground parking and turn a profit with three floors on a relatively small lot. I'll believe it when I see it. Corrigan Station and Reverb have above ground parking. 1914 Main had ground...
