Re: Downtown Gyms
I need some fitness center recommendations between Crown Center and River Market? Membership price is important since I don't have much money right now. It would also make a difference if the gym has tanning beds.

Re: P+L Tenant Rumors
Ok, ok. You want rumors. Possible big announcement of a tenant. It is an acronym, four letters. Begins with an E and ends with an N. Rumored to be in talks. I heard about this for months, going next to Sprint Studio across Grand from Sprint Center. I'm waiting for Hard Rock's announcemen...

I liked the idea of a natural history museum Isn't Overland Park already planning a world-class natural history museum? The Prairiefire Cultural & Natural History Museum. Anyway, Mission is late with an aquarium too...I believe the Schlitterbahn Resort in KCK will have an aquarium. Let's just b...

Re: Downtown Aquarium
Houston for example has a great downtown aquarium that is a McQuarium. I've been sayin' this from the beginning of the P&L development...bring in the interactive Aquarium Restaurant and nightclub concept that's owned by Landry's Restaurants, Inc. They have one in both Houston and just down the ...

Re: Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
Has Studio closed, or just cut back on daytime hours? That security curtain they have looks bad. I used to walk down McGee at lunchtime just to have the pleasure of admiring that building. Now it just looks like a garage door. They're still open. I was there briefly on Thursday night and they wer...

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
How many bars and restaurants does downtown need? Between the river and crown center there are a lot of sit-down places and drinking holes. Almost too many in my opinion. It would take months just to eat at every restaurant in the downtown area. There needs to be more counter-service restaurants, n...

Re: Poll: Power & Light District Dress Code
Bottom line is that the guys in the baggy jeans and oversized t-shirts (white, black, whatever) are always causing the most problems. I've witnessed it all over Westport and at Granfalloon on the Plaza several dozen times. I've also witnessed it in other cities. Maybe we should invite all the wankst...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
I've gone to P&L every single weekend and have never witnessed anyone being harrassed by the bouncers. My friend got into a fist fight and they escorted him out...deservingly, of course. He didn't really start it, but still received a ticket for peace disturbance (along with the other guy) and w...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
you do know that except for a select group of white folks no one else really can either afford the place or wants to spend their money at a so over-the-top corporate shit hole. I'm poor...I'm just there racking up my credit card to infinity. Dinner and pints at Flying Saucer or Raglan Road...hookin...

I did say "Besides myself" before that statement, so I was poking fun at myself. I was making a stereotypical response, no reason to further elaborate.ddw334umkc wrote: Would you please elaborate on that statement?

Re: Poll: Power & Light District Dress Code
What is funny about this is KC Live is suppose to be "urban". But how urban can it be if it does not allow an urban style of dress? This place could be a perfect place is Lees' Summit or Gladstone. And I thought that people wanted to go downtown to get out of the suburbs. I like the va...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
That's funny. I live down the street, dress like an Irish thug hooligan, and still get into the Live block as well as Mosaic, Angel's, etc. after 10 or 11pm. I never tuck my clothes in, I always wear hats (sometimes tilted sideways), and I'm partially smashed when I enter. Maybe they just recognize ...

Re: The Mango Room
I had the oxtail a couple of times and it was delicious! I'm truly sad to see them go, but I hope they fail miserably in Leawood. Personally, I would've preferred to see them move to 18th & Vine or the River Market, but I guess they wouldn't have been able to get a liquor license anywhere in KCM...

Re: tunnel under Oak St.?
One guy in Northeast had a tunnel from his north-south street to his garage on the east-west street. One of the most infamous mob tunnels isn't even located in the River Quay. It actually runs under State Line Road to KCK from a home in KCMO between 45th & 43rd Streets. It was once a Civella re...
