Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

Since someone was asking for pics, I'll give some crappy cell phone ones. Best I could do on short notice.

Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

I'll head up tomorrow or Friday if it isn't too cold and snap another picture. Yes, it's changed a lot since I took that last week.

Also got a view of it from the roof of our new building @ 1737 McGee. Even better view from there, but we don't move in there until December, and I don't have keys yet.

Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

Snapped a picture with my cell phone while on the roof of my company's building on Tue. Not a great picture, but there haven't been many photo updates to the thread, and I don't think any from this angle. http://i41.tinypic.com/29vf476.jpg Edit: I have a bigger picture if someone wants better detail...

Enjoy your Sequoia. I drive one too and absolutely love it. Glad I didn't panic and sell it this summer.

Re: 1737 McGee

is this a done deal?  if so welcome to the east side.. You guys were located behind my first studio, the building is now purple.I think your parking garage. Not quite a done deal - financing still has to be secured, which is no small order these days. We're not expecting any trouble, though, and are...

Re: 1737 McGee

I think it's great what the company is doing.  Just wondering, How enthustiastic are the residents of JoCo about the downtown workplace?  Would they rather head out south closer to their homes or is there widespread support among that group for staying DT?  Not intending to put you on the spot, jus...

Re: 1737 McGee

I work for SMG and can answer a few of these questions: The lot just to the East is already leveled and is a gravel lot. It will remain as a surface lot (you can see it on google maps), although we may pave it. We tried to do a garage, but at $30000 a space and no help from Funk, it isn't cost effec...

Re: OFFICIAL - Performing Arts Center construction

I mentioned this in the Broadway Condo thread, but regarding the post office building - the company I work for was looking at buying it and renovating it into our new corp HQ, but the structure was in such bad shape that it would have been impossible. It was structurally unsound according to the peo...

Re: Sprint Center's necessity?

I heard it had to do with AT&T - a major Idol sponsor - not wanting tryouts to be at the "Sprint" Center.

Re: belton

That looks to be pretty old. OfficeMax has been open for almost a year. No sign of Old Navy yet. Never seen more than a couple of cars in the OfficeMax parking lot, so I doubt it will be there long. The building that they're talking about leasing doesn't exist. It's just a grass lot next to McD's - ...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Broadway KC condos

The company I work for looked at buying and renovating the old PO building after the Broadway condo building fell through, but apparently it was too far gone for a renovation. From the sounds of it, it'll eventually be demo-ed. Hopefully something new will go in there soon. Too much surface parking ...

You might check thekansascitychannel.com and see if they have video of their story last night. There were some renderings there.

Re: Data center move from 1025 Grand to ClayCo

The company I used to work for had their datacenter in that building for awhile - it was called Switch & Data at the time. Complete dump of a building and a poorly run colo facility at that. When we pulled out, most companies had already pulled their equipment. This was probably 14-18 months ago.

Re: Downtown Goodyear gone?

I noticed a few weeks ago (and again recently) that there's a sign on the building that says something along the lines of Mixed Used Retail coming soon...anyone know anything about that?
