Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Re: OFFICIAL - The New Yorker (Hotel Bray)

It would be cool if they repainted the "Fireproof" sign on the side. I always enjoy seeing that sign. Reassuring.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

The landlords seemed in a hurry to send both packing but I haven't found anything since about plans for either spot. I heard through the grapevine that Beignet is moving to the Winslow's space. ...

Re: Bike Lanes

I’ve yet to see a single bike utilize the bike lanes downtown around the Power and Light area. I’ve seen more skateboard nerds than anything. It doesn't help that Two Light and Traders construction blocks the lane. But I concur that the main issue is lack of infrastructure elsewhere connecting into...

I keep running into new people at downtown events and it strikes me that a significant number of them report living in this building. Good stuff.

Re: Best Happy Hour

Milwaukee Deli recently added a cocktail menu (finally) and at all times you can get a $6 Old Fashioned and a sidecar of Old Milwaukee. The sidecar is an entire can.

This might be the best drink value in KC, imho.

How does this impact some of your denser proposals for the block, if at all?

Also, didn't part of the facade collapse a year ago or so? I think that created some additional unplanned work.

Could it mean a new one will go up in its place? Well, certainly a crane will have to go back up if the project is ever to be finished. But no, I take this as a sign we're in for the long stall. Second time this has happened in recent times in KC. The other project was in the West Plaza and that to...
