Re: Banksia - 9th & Baltimore

Discontinuing dinner service downtown. Can't say I ever went but wish restaurants would give dinner service a little more time to work before giving up. Still doing breakfast and lunch and I have had some really good food there Agreed. I think business owners severely underestimate the amount of ti...

I dream of a day we can shave an hour off the River Runner and add a mid-day departure in KC and STL.

I sincerely hope we don't put a ballpark in that corner of the loop. Great for tourists, bad for the burgeoning # of surrounding residents.

Likely no one here needs reminding, but do recall that this was previously a Superfund site and it is now a lovely apartment tower. This is a massive win for the neighborhood and city.

I really liked KC Marketplace. I spent some time there trying out a variety of KC spirits and beers. Nice store. Yes, I agree that Made in KC Marketplace is a hit; better than expected. Nice atmosphere, particularly around Christmas, and the bar area is a surprisingly decent hang-out spot with gues...

I will miss the business they provided to downtown, I will not miss them sitting in the aisles at Cosentinos while I am trying to replenish my LaCroix supply.

I am gonna say that Rockafire closes by October. The place is usually dead on a Saturday and the overall atmosphere kind of sucks.
I'll take April.

Not sure if anyone spotted this but a Starbucks is going in the Hampton Inn on Main. I know it’s not an artisanal coffee shop but this is a great value add to the area IMO.
Can we tell yet if it is a proper Starbucks versus, say, the typical hotel lobby versions?

I was really confused by this and thought they were going to tear down City Diner and re-align Grand for some reason, before I finally figured out there wasn't any space between these pictures.
I spent a couple of minutes trying to figure it out as well.

How many of these decisions are at this phase??? Should curb running keep the existing six lane configuration with part-time bus lanes becoming the track lane or is it better to move to a four lane setup and add all day curb parking? How do you account for places like 4110 Main which is one big cur...

I have heard the same thing from a reliable source. This will be an additional location, they will offer some bike services though I got the impression that for any "real" bike work they would take your bike over to the main location. Still, it will be so much better than Scooter's and a good place...

Hey I get noticed on certain posts...happy to answer questions. We pulled the townhomes sign (ugly) b/c of lingering uncertainty with the master plan. 50/50 says it might be back. Certainly have demand. the corner lot sign was Chris Sally - office bldg - and too small of parcel really for that. Unc...

My understanding is that Spokes is still negotiating with the potential new owners of the building. Nothing is final yet until (unless) the building sale goes through. Until then, Scooters will be there and the closing is not imminent.

It is so hard to find a bike rack when I'm riding downtown. Sometimes I have to walk almost a block and that is hard when I'm in high heels. I'm afraid to lock my bike to something that isn't officially designated, like a light pole, fence or water meter and there are so many homeless people that i...
