If done right, this whole stretch of park could be a real statement piece for KC, like Millenium Park is for Chicago.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

My point is if it was clear, streetcar would have rushed out the proof like they did before. Their silence indicates to me blame is debatable (probably by the insurance honks) What's unclear here? A piece of construction equipment on the sidewalk was jutting out into the street, and the streetcar h...

Re: West 39th Street Apartments

We should NEVER again make ANY sidewalk more narrow. If that's what you meant by 'shortened'. Generally agree--but if it's through a residential section like the sketch shows there might be some opportunity to make an exception. Although the sidewalks through that portion are already pretty narrow...

Commerce Tower to get a full service Sundry as part of Plexpod. Also, Sundry will close its crossroads location and open in Westport Plexpod.

I'm reminded of the fight this board had with Strongtowns' own Chuck Marohn after he laid down in the middle of Grand to demonstrate its excessive width and lack of automobiles.

right, i meant the existing space. it sucks. i don't know anything about this guy's (apparently infamous) history, but it's hard to imagine anyone walking in there and saying "YES THIS IS WHERE I WANT MY BUSINESS TO LIVE" "Tourists will definitely want to come into this totally legit...

those of you that have been in there (i have, but only in the tiger tail days): what do you think is the ideal use for that space? that stretch of walnut is picking up a lot of nearby residential density yet i'm still not positive the answer isn't "garage" The ideal use for that space is ...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal

Continuing the earlier thought (forgive me if it was answered somewhere in all the back and forth): Is Mixx just oblivious to what's gone on downtown? I understand they had a tough go at the outset with evening/weekend hours but that was years ago. Is this something Cordish raises with them and they...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal

Joe has stated over and over again he is DONE opening more "Joe's". Cool story, but that doesn't really address how anyone thought this was a better idea than that. "I'm tired of giving people what they want, so instead I'm going to give people something vaguely similar but simultane...

I believe almost anytime you see a 737/757 sized plane sitting out on the tarmac it's a baseball team in town to play the Royals. It is very frequently a Delta plane but I've seen others as well, and you'll notice they're almost exclusively out there when the Royals are at home. The 757 that's out ...
