Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?

Got this email today, ouch: We want to let you know that the price of your Fiber 1000 + TV plan will be increasing from $130/month to $150/month starting with your July bill. (If you also subscribe to optional packages, the prices of those add-ons will remain the same.) I wonder if that means I can...

Re: New Downtown YMCA

What a huge debacle. Is there anyone at City Planning/Council with 2 brain cells to rub together? If they are going to build new, use the entire block. Don't leave the cesspool parking lagoon along the east side of the building. This is absolutely nuts, beyond belief. This project's new constructio...

Re: Washington Sq Park between Crown Center/Union Station

It seems reasonable that any development in Washington Park should go UP rather than the sprawled campus in the rendering. The park could still mostly be kept intact if 2 taller (high-rise) mixed-use buildings (office/residential) were built. The new residents (along with the new res project on the...

Also should note this wraps around (behind I suppose) Char Bar. So Char Bar remains, expensive croquet and all.

what is y'alls opinion on this place? we are getting one in u-city and i imagine that i will frequent it quite often. all the "cool" non-chain brewery/beer bar stuff goes to the city, so i'll take a midwestern chain beer bar anyday...i mean it looks ok. i imagine it is..ok. The beer list ...

I don't get this. If you don't want big box stores then why do you live in the suburbs which are built around big box stores? This is an honest question.

Can confirm that railroads have been approached about using the North Loop project as an opportunity to build a new crossing that would allow them to straighten out the kinks in the system around the river crossing.

Makes sense, the largest warehouse inventory metros are almost always going to places with wide open spaces and lots of cheap land that you can build on.

I just love that it is a place name. One can imagine it located somewhere west of Tatooine.

Re: AMC and Ten Main Center

I'd have to imagine that the proximity of the Main St. transit hub also plays a significant role in the difficulty of finding a commercial tenant for the southeast corner. Was that a Commerce branch at some point? Always seems like a weird space to me, though I'm sure the transit center doesn't hel...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I am fond of buildings that are four stories or less, but I'm curious why some are concerned about buildings being too tall? What's the issue for you? Agreed. But, I like this concept b/c the taller buildings are pushed to the corners of the site where they strike me as more appropriate. That said,...

It's mildly irritating that the new Domino's won't deliver to northeast. I was glad the newish Papa Johns that opened in xroads a while ago does. Is 19th and McGee really that much closer than 11th and Main? I mean, given they're chains I assume they just have some radius algorithm that decides whe...

per a tenant in the building, they're converting some additional floors to residential. the whole building is going residential. They are just doing a few floors out a time so they didn't have to kick all the office tenants out at once. We were told that they were converting the top several floors-...
