Can confirm that railroads have been approached about using the North Loop project as an opportunity to build a new crossing that would allow them to straighten out the kinks in the system around the river crossing.

ST...I know your focus is p&l but don't forget all of downtown has grown...So a clothing store isn't going to succeed or fail based on one cordish tower. As a drone office lunch person, I can tell you...The decisions made by groups for lunch isn't fast food vs. Bristol. I'm more referring to fa...

Makes sense, the largest warehouse inventory metros are almost always going to places with wide open spaces and lots of cheap land that you can build on.
I just love that it is a place name. One can imagine it located somewhere west of Tatooine.
I'd have to imagine that the proximity of the Main St. transit hub also plays a significant role in the difficulty of finding a commercial tenant for the southeast corner. Was that a Commerce branch at some point? Always seems like a weird space to me, though I'm sure the transit center doesn't hel...

I am fond of buildings that are four stories or less, but I'm curious why some are concerned about buildings being too tall? What's the issue for you? Agreed. But, I like this concept b/c the taller buildings are pushed to the corners of the site where they strike me as more appropriate. That said,...
Help me understand....Maybe a street view of urban retail in another city Think of any successful retail area in a city. Is there a single store on the block? Or are there multiple retailers? I submit that the new P&L apartments got this right in that they have a couple of retail bays along Bal...
It's mildly irritating that the new Domino's won't deliver to northeast. I was glad the newish Papa Johns that opened in xroads a while ago does. Is 19th and McGee really that much closer than 11th and Main? I mean, given they're chains I assume they just have some radius algorithm that decides whe...

There are definitely a few places. I just think in general we have a dearth of good retail locations available.
per a tenant in the building, they're converting some additional floors to residential. the whole building is going residential. They are just doing a few floors out a time so they didn't have to kick all the office tenants out at once. We were told that they were converting the top several floors-...
well it's not like there is a lack of ground level retail spaces. There is an aching need for 10x, 20x, 100x the ground level retail space. Agreed--a lot of the existing vacant retail spaces aren't very well suited for many types of businesses, IMHO. They've been crammed with low ceilings into the ...
The word on the street used to be that Mildred's was going to move to Commerce Tower so they'd have an exterior entrance. no longer a thing. Interesting. I'd like to see them move somewhere, but I worry that ground floor space in Ten Main is too large and would swallow their operation. Perhaps it c...
Any idea if what they are doing in the first floor / basement area? Notta. They've been mum about that southeast corner and I haven't seen much of any activity there, so I'm assuming there's nothing on the immediate horizon. if they were wise, they'd move mildred's to that spot. The word on the str...

Currently converting the lobby level into apartments. The area near Mildred's. Wake up to bacon every morning!

I heard second-hand that BOA is vacating the building at Broadway and Westport Rd in August (not sure if related to the development). Also, comments from the Nextdoor app said that the meeting last night brought to light concerns about traffic and parking...shocker. Area residents allegedly asked w...
