Re: Companies moving downtown

Do we have reason to believe 1034 Main is anything other than a glimmer in Jon Copaken's eye? It has been referred to several times here but I haven't heard anything as to a status change from 20-year-old conceptual drawing to actual project. But, naturally, I want to believe. :D

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

At the Plaza stop, both lanes of the streetcar and the dedicated bus lanes will be on the east side of Main in a transit plaza. It shows that in the rendering if you take another look. My question is where will the UMKC stop be? Does it move to the Wiggings trail, in the old ROW, at that point? Thi...

Who does own that abandoned office building?
I really like this building and wish it could be put back into service perhaps with some new development to the south.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I just don’t see the justification for EW streetcar at any of the places mentioned and if the stadium isn’t going to be on a streetcar line, it might as well stay where it is. The whole point is to connect it with existing entertainment infrastructure and make using mass transit to get to the game ...

Re: Companies moving downtown

1. Waddell & Reed would need more space than what Strata or Platform Ventures can offer. Twisty Tower (500K SF) is the closest w/o being too small of the proposed office buildings. The Washington Square Park Office Project would be my second guess. 2. Are you saying that this will be a not yet annou...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

Take a look at what they did in Columbus park with the "CP Lofts" and picture that down there. I wonder what the lifespan of those buildings are. I'd wager not more than 20 years. Future Motel 6 or Rodeway Inn I would bet a minimum of 50-75 years with regular investment. The two hotels at Paseo/Ind...

We were promised the Bond bridge would be iconic...it's the same bridge that can be found in countless cities around the country and world.
What should have been done differently? Ultimately the bridge has to stand, so surely design options are a bit limited?

If cordish wants to build a greenspace, let them!
Worth repeating.
:o
Surely Cordish can help out, but this would benefit everyone, not just Cordish though it would sit at the front door of their (our) investment.

Re: Bike Lanes

There are a lot of poor decisions made in KC with bike paths, such as putting a main one through downtown along Grand, which has among highest bus traffic. I use Walnut. Doesn't seem decisions are made by cyclists, or if so they live on risky edge. Grand is wider and they clearly wanted to add bike...

Re: Capping the Loop

Got to finally see Klyde Warren park down in Dallas this weekend, and if Kansas City never realizes the idea of putting a park over 670, it might be the most ass backwards decision this city ever makes. That was hands down the greatest piece of green space I’ve ever experienced in an urban environm...

Re: Bike Lanes

Is NKC going to connect Armour Bike Lanes underneath I-35 to the new development on the east side of I-35 (which contains a cycle track btw)? I understood the plan to be prioritizing 16th street as the method for getting under I-29. That said, I've also heard that industrial interests along 16th ar...
