Re: Next Mayor 2019

We received a brochure from what's clearly a right-wing interest group around all races. (supported Hall, Loar and Shields among others). Once special interests are involved you know they're aiming for turnout. What was the group's name? Shields may have issues, but she's nowhere near right wing on...

Re: North Oak MAX

There won't be a single seat ride to Waldo or Plaza. It's coming from as far north as 152 and that makes no sense. It might run to Crown Center. The most likely express through the urban core is a Plaza/Union Station airport express at a premium price. Does ending at 3rd/Grand versus Crown Center a...

Re: North Oak MAX

Why do we always have to keep these lines running north/south? Same with traffic configurations. Everything orients for quicker traffic from “nice” suburbs to DT. Is there really no demand for an ECII/47th Max line or are we worried about crossing lines or “problems” on the Plaza? I’d imagine Indep...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

Any feedback on what I think is our first full car sponsored ad by the royals? I assume the other graphics have been more streetcar authority driven to get into the spirit. This royals one looks all out like a purchased ad. I think it looks great. I dig it because they've once again been very creat...

Sell your property?
Perhaps. And what affect do you think that would have on people wanting to rent and the affordability of units?
Increase the desirability of the property because it is no longer owned by a slumlord?

I kid i kid.

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

I am gonna say that Rockafire closes by October. The place is usually dead on a Saturday and the overall atmosphere kind of sucks. Guess they closed in February. Why is that spot so bad? Nothing ever lasts in that building Rockafire was a poor experience. The ambience was nonexistent. A lot of the ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

I think the hesitance of this city to take meaningful space from automobiles is why we've gone curb-running. Our system will continue to be very nice, but I think it would be stronger if it were center-running. Best case we eliminate parking in the future and dedicate that space to bicycles which wo...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

I remember being really excited about Anton's "Estelle's" diner concept when he was talking about it going into the former Nichols diner on 39th several years ago. However, between the absurdly quick turn-around here (Cascone's closed last week! Estelle's opens this week!), seemingly keeping many t...

There definitely is (was?) something there. That annoying riding lawnmower hauling brats around used to drive around it.
