If residents are confused, imagine how visitors to the area feel.

Re: Cost of Living
As one of an elderly couple living on a fixed income, I can attest to this. Thanks for posting this. Nice to know it wasn't my imagination. I'd say that I can understand how old people wind up eating canned cat food, but the price of cat food is sky high, too.

Traffic is already bad around here. What are the plans for handling all the additional cars on the road? And if we are adding more people, where will the kids attend school?

Re: Weird how SLC has a relatively small downtown residential population
I'm just guessing, but when I was going to SLC regularly, it struck me as a family-oriented city. Plus the church factor. Remember that the city is centered around the tabernacle. It has only been in recent years that they really had a food and bar scene at all. Again, I'm just guessing.

Great news that they have taken the space permanently. Not only is the restaurant fantastic, the space is beautiful.

Re: Scooter crimes
I'm honestly amazed there aren't more accidents/injuries. I don't spend a lot of time downtown, but when I've gone through, there is always at least one person on a scooter who doesn't obey traffic signals and pulls right out into traffic. They have them here in Liberty now. I haven't seen anyone on...

It is fantastic. Just saw them post that the pop-up space has been extended through April. I sure hope they can make it permanent.

Sad for all the elderly people who walked there and met for coffee daily. For many of them it was their only social life.

NBA gets my vote here. Having lived in Boston and So. California where the NBA has a strong presence, I have really missed having a home team to cheer for.

Yes, according to their website, it is not allowed. Too much potential for spreading disease/parasites. The cats in the cafe are all cleared by the shelter they are brought in from.

We still subscribe, but let it lapse for a couple of weeks because the cost had gone up so much. We knew if we waited, they would come up with a deal to re-subscribe and sure enough they did. Home delivery costs way too much for what it is and the distributors they use are the worst. It has gotten b...
