Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! THE BIG 12 IS DEAD! MAYBE!
I am sure Nebraska will push hard to get KU admitted to the Big 10. Hard to get a feel for who else they'd bring in. If you were going by athletic success, especially recently it would be Iowa State, but they are in a low population state that already has a team in conference. Not sure if the Big 10...

Is Fareway only opening the meat markets in KC? Any of their full service stores coming?

Re: Royals at TD Ameritrade
The Pirates or Phillies now play in Williamsport every year. This is more similar to that.
MLB is also exploring holding the draft in Omaha every year to coincide with the CWS.

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! THE BIG 12 IS DEAD! MAYBE!
Catching up here. I do think that when the Big 12 added West Virginia and TCU, they should have also added 2 more teams to get to 12 at that time. Obvious one was Louisville, and then probably Cinncinnati, to strenghten their presence in that region. Now it's too late with the grant of rights in the...

Raytown Hotels in the 70's
We used to stay in Raytown in the 70's when coming down to KC for Royals games (my parents had lived in Raytown in the 60's). We would stay at a Holiday Inn that is now the very run down Crown Lodge off of Blue Parkway. We also stayed at a hotel in that had an indoor pool in the area. I am pretty su...

Building Near Penn Valley Park
There is a really cool older building, almost castle like in or near Penn Valley Park, I think you can see it from SW Trafficway. Can anybody tell me what it was or if there is a history to it?
I've seen it for years when I'm in KC and always wondered about it.

Question on DT Project
Was in KC last week and stayed at Downtown Marriott. I could see a pretty good sized project from our room. Looked to be a block or two south of the Crowne Plaza and over east a block. Might have been housing, but looked fairly large. Anybody know what this is?

You could make a case for Escobar and Davis. Cain if he stays healthy could make some noise for future All Star Games.

Latest reports have Shamrock going up in phases, not all at once. Hotel will be first.

Re: News from Omaha
HUDL coming to Omaha softened the blow of MindMixer moving from Omaha to KC.
The Shamrock-Capital District development near the Century Link Center seems to have stalled. As we approach summer, no development has started.
UNO's new arena will not seat 8k, will be closer to 7000 or 7500.

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
The SEC has 14 teams not 16 teams. In the long run money will reflect population. the SEC TV contracts provide for renegotation based on expansion. Also, SEC is strongly rumored to be adding an SEC network - which Texas has blocked for the Big 12. SEC states have a population of about 87 million. B...

Re: Big 12 is fine, everybody off the ledge...oh yeah, we lost NU/CU and get more $$
Nebraska medical school is completely separate from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. If it was under UNL's umbrella (like KU) Nebraska would have been fine in the AAU. I would not be surprised long term if that happens and they reapply. Right now, no because there are some pretty hard feelings...

Re: Omaha: TD Ameritrade Park Open House
The lower bowl of TD really has similarites to Kauffman. It will be great for the CWS. Werner Park, where the Chasers play is a far superior facility for minor league baseball. They would have been swallowed in there (even worse if TD if/when TD is expanded by another 10k to 34k as the CWS grows)....

I'd like for KC to make a run for the Atlanta Thrashers. We'd come down from Omaha a ton to watch the NHL.

Re: Werner Park in Sarpy County
There's going to be a ton of development near the ballpark soon. Highway 370 where this is located is the hottest development area in the metro. There are competing outlet mall/entertainment complexes proposed in the area (one is tied in with Cordish). It's also close to I80 and much more conveni...

Really disappointed in the attendance at the MU KU game. If this continues might as well move it back to campus sites.

Moose last night for Omaha, 4 for 6, 3HR's (2 3runHR's and 1 2runHR) plus a 3run double. 11 rbi's shatter's the previous rbi record of 8....He has been hitting well lately and is now at almost .300. Looks like he has adjusted quite well to AAA. He was also named Texas League player of the year ye...

Re: Whitlock hits the nail on the head about KC sports...
I like reading Jason but he does not exactly have a good track record with employer's. Thing did not end well for him with ESPN and 810 as well. At some point do you realize you might be part of the problem or is it always the employer and you never part of the problem???
