Re: OFFICIAL - ARTerra (21st and Wyandotte)

How many floors are left to go? I noticed on Friday that the current height is now lined up exactly with the base of Kauffman Center when viewed from the base of Liberty Memorial. I know there's some sort of height restriction rule for anything built between the Memorial and Kauffman but I can't re...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Old Navy is definitely the pinnacle of luxury. Glad they are kicking out peasant stores like Burberry, Williams Sonoma, Eddie Bauer and bringing in Old Navy. Maybe Dollar Tree or Five Below can take over The North Face space. LOL. Yea, a bit disappointed that Old Navy is going in that spot. How abo...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

north loop Tower won’t sell and won’t say what their plans are, but I know they’ve been approached. They control both sides of Main south of 70. I suspect they are land banking for downtown baseball, since Commerce is a big supporter of the Royals and Downtown Council. Great. So they will sit on th...

Not sure what to make of this but feel free to chime in if you know different. I was doing some permit scouring today and noticed a few that peeked my interest. One is for a Tenant Finish for The Gap on 235 W 47th St: http://kivaweb.kcmo.org/kivanet/2/permit/summary/index.cfm?pid=1791508&jur=KCM...

Re: 50s/Main development

There are some new docs in the KCMO Development tracker for a 5 story, 151 room hotel on about half of the large parking lot NW of 50th and Main. At least, I'm assuming it is a hotel. I don't see that explicitly stated in the docs and I don't see any indication of the flag. Docs: http://maps.kcmo.o...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Speaking of prime locations that aren't being well utilized in the neighborhood, has anyone heard if the former Winslows BBQ space in the City Market is going to be leased? THAT would have been a better spot for an ice cream shop in my opinion. On another River Market related note: I saw a notice o...

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

It has a good reputation in Waldo, doesn't it? I hear you about it being seasonal, but I hope they have the experience to make it work. Often has a line out the door in Waldo, so I think it should do just fine in RM. Looking forward to having an actual ice cream place downtown. I live nearby the on...

Re: We need a new airport!!!

Why does no one explain to Loar that there were NEVER 90 gates. The gates were numbered 1-90 but they skipped many numbers. Also, those gates were tiny and were meant for smaller aircraft. They really didn't try and explain the reason for why it is only perceived that we're going to less gates and ...

I saw they are building new buildings on some parking lots downtown. Do you think there will be a problem finding parking down there? I am worried about even going down there now. LOL, hardly the case. There are thousands upon thousands of spaces for you to choose from. In fact as I look at my wind...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Permit has been pulled to finish out old Burberry space into the new location for Tesla.

As for Eddie Bauer, according to a former employee, the Plaza elected not to renew lease as they want to focus on higher end stores. Who knows how much of that is true but thought I would share.
