Re: Wonderful Waldo

i think demographics is the biggest factor. with children in the waldo/brookside area that attend catholic school...tuition at the schools is fairly irrelevant unless you are a non-parishoner. these schools thrive on a tithing model - with less and less school families at CTK partially due to the co...

Re: Best beer, wine, & spirits retailers in KCMO city?

cellar and loft of bks was just that - the cellar was stone walls, creaky harwoowoods and shelves and shelves of beer and wine.  none of the prices were great but the tastings were fun and the ability to build your own 6 pack was the best part. i couldn't bring myself to buy wine there - prices were...

Re: Best beer, wine, & spirits retailers in KCMO city?

berbiglia is BAD - at least few around here in brookside/waldo.  lukas liquor superstore way down at 135th and state line (in MO) is great.  everything you could possibly need.  i typically go to price chopper at 103rd, though.  decent selection and REALLY great deals right now for thanksgiving.

yep, walk in and make meals to take home.  i left off five guys - how could i forget them? of course it's certainly not gourmet but it's a "better burger" concept that's doing really well.

Re: Blanc Burgers & Bottles

but back to the franchising of BBB or even serious expansion...this is a trend that has just now hit the midwest, just like the yogurt shops (more recently just hitting the area)  - trying to franchise or expand beyond what is, is probably not a good idea. overnight (it seems) there are way too many...

Re: Advice on Waldo/Brookside area

WyCo - what are their plans for school?  We live in the Waldo/Brookside area w/3 kids.  The neighborhood (Ward Park) that encompasses Gregory (71st) to 75th, Wornall to State Line has many tudor style homes for sale right now.  The link to the one on Belleview is close to us  - too pricey for the ne...

Re: BRGR Kitchen & Bar - Prairie Village

Our family of 5 had dinner at BRGR last night - cannot say a bad thing about this place.  It was busy, they handled it all very well.  Service was excellent.  Food was great.  I had the Juicy Lucy - it was messy but good.  Hubs had the vegetarian lentil burger - also good.  We shared fries which wer...
